When I phoned to make the booking on behalf of our family, I was not asked if there was an occasion that we were celebrating.
In the early stages of the cruise, our family had to endure listening to multiple mentions of onboard guests who were celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. My Mother, who's 80th Birthday we were celebrating on board the boat last Sunday, was extremely disappointed she was left out, and the rest of our family was left feeling embarrassed and humiliated.
I would have expected, after all these years being in the same business, management and staff would have provided a higher level of customer service.
It was a very disappointing experience. The food is very basic. Not worth the expense.

Our dedicated staff and crew love what they do and they go out of their way to ensure our passengers have a wonderful experience.
Sometimes however we make mistakes and this is evident on both sides of the equation here. Reviews on TripAdvisor, Google and our website attest to the wonderful experience we offer our passengers on the Nepean Belle but people’s experience is also in part subjective.
From the time of booking you were presented with ample opportunities to let us know that a special celebration was taking place. When you booked you could have mentioned it, as most of our passengers do. You could easily have replied to your confirmation email, your reminder email a few days before your cruise and you could have also had a quiet word to Captain Chris (the owner) on the day. He, as he always does, would have been happy to make a fuss for your mother’s birthday.
Suzanne, it’s one thing to be disappointed however it’s a whole new level to use a platform such as TripAdvisor to disparage and attempt to damage a small business (that has struggled so much over the last few years) because you were disappointed your birthday celebration was not acknowledged.
We always try hard to ensure our passengers enjoy their time onboard. At no time during your cruise did you or any of your party let us know there was an issue which did not give us the opportunity to rectify it.
We appreciate fair, honest and constructive feedback and I will take it up with my office staff to double check any celebrations with passengers when booking.

Amazing view, lunch was good. A little hard to get to without a car. Rain made it hard to be on outer deck. Pictures were many.

The captain and staff are great .
I got wrong directions , he was on phone guide me to the right directions .
Staff came out looking for me ,
Even the boat delay 7mins .
After that The captain got me a bonus DRINK FOR FREE FOR ME AND FAMILY
I’m very appreciates for what s they did for us even it was our faults
I will definitely be back when I got time and will introduce for friends and relatives

I gave it 3 stars, yet you should definitely go and experience this... The sightseeing is so beautiful, especially on a sunny day...you have to see it to believe it. Great family day out! The staff were nice and the trip had a personalised tone to it, which was a really nice touch. The seating is nice, surrounded by big windows on all sides, as well as little balconies on each side/corner where you can get out, breathe in the nature, and take amazing photos...
Haven't tried the night session, that will definitely be the next one for me!
Why I gave it 3 stars is because of food... I am really easy going person, and I know how hard it is to run the business especially nowadays, so I am only taking time out and saying these things with only intention to help the business improve. The food was generally good, especially the chicken that we had..so succulent and juicy, but only 1 piece per person and all served on one long wooden board. No extras if anyone wanted a tiny bit more, and no alternative meat option if you weren't into chicken that day. We got one small bowl of creamed potatoes to be shared between 5 people, and was luke warm. 2 bowls would've been a bit more appropriate.. We also got a bowl of carrots and peas to share amongst us and there was no salad. The gravy that was served was cold and hardened into a jelly.
The bread rolls that came with it were stale and cold, only one per person, and when we asked for an extra one for the child who wanted a bit more, we were told they had none. For the cleanliness of cutlery/glassware, I'd probably say 3.5/5.
The offering deviated somewhat from what was shown on the website, so the web should probably be updated regularly. This was also true for the deserts, however deserts we got were really yummy, served alternatively. It would be great if customers had some choice in this though.
The service was good, but the service was done by young teenagers. Again, all for supporting small business, especially family run, and having to cut corners where possible to keep it afloat, but they were obviously very young and lacked that customer service finesse (just in case you are expecting this).
Finally, was a bit surprised that the business only took cash on board for any drinks from the bar, which I don't mind at all, but we weren't prepared, so not sure if I missed this somewhere on the website, but just noting here in case someone else misses it too.
Overall, it was a lovely family experience, and as mentioned, definitely plan on coming back again, just hope that food offering and quality of food is improved a bit.

Hi Marina, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your cruise on the Nepean Belle.
I am sorry that you were not happy with your meal. It is difficult to explain it however reviews from others on the same cruise did not parlay any of your concerns. Had you spoken to any one of our crew onboard that day about any issues with the food they would have been more than happy to rectify anything you found lacking.
Our cutlery and crockery are washed in our commercial dishwasher at temperatures above 100deg and tables are set on the morning of the cruise.
Our website is updated and menus are available - you were on our "Winter Warmer" Scenic Adventure Cruise which has a menu more suited for cold weather (ie hot vegetables instead of salad).
I can assure you that our crew are all very experienced and are also adults! On weekends we have our juniors who are not on the main floor. I will say that our front of house Manager, a lovely young lady, does look very young however assuming that we are "cutting corners" by employing teenagers who "lack customer service finesse" is insulting at best, both to us as a business and our crew who try hard to provide a great experience for our passengers every single day.
Drinks from the bar are cash because we cruise into the Nepean Gorge which does not have mobile service. The Cash bar is alerted in the booking process (where you have to confirm you understand it is a cash bar before you can proceed), and it is also highlighted in bold red font in your booking confirmation email as well as your reminder email 3 days prior to your cruise. I'm not sure what else we can do!
I will discuss you review with our team with a view to improve where we can and again, I thank you for leaving your feedback.

What a wonderful trip and the food was absolutely amazing!! Such an old world charm and the staff were so welcoming and fun. We had a lunch tour and the food was so good while we cruised down the river. Such a relaxing experience and such a beautiful place to visit. Definitely recommend.

I had no expectations of this cruise, someone else had chosen it as a family outing.
It was great!
The food was delicious and of excellent quality.
The views were lovely and the staff were friendly, organised and efficient.
A very pleasant and relaxing way to spend a Sunday - highly recommended!

All aboard for a family lunch! Great food & service. The trip along the nepean river is really nice with areas to relax outside.
