This tour is a must if you have any curiosity about the history of Las Vegas and how it all started. Our guide Richard is a very knowledgable person but it’s his passion and love for the city that will make you want to learn more! We are part of the hospitality industry and with this knowledge, he tailored the tour so we see more about the hotels that were built initially and even took us to the first ever room! Downtown is fascinating, but only once you learn about ownership and what each did to make the experience always more unique then you realise how innovative the city really is. The leadership of the city is also one that always adapts and innovates and Richard has so many stories that will make you understand so well the city and what it means for the area.
After carefully listening, I now have a list of people and events that I will further research and I am grateful to Richard for opening this door! A great tour and an even greater guide! All the best!

Awesome tour around the historic part of Las Vegas, super knowledgable guide, he takes you to places you most probably would have never gone alone and he got some awesome stories to tell. They only take a very limited number of persons per tour, so the tour feels very personalised. Rick, the tour guide, doesn’t do these tours just to make a living but loves what he does.

Fremont is a little far from the strip but it is a street where the old casinos are and it is ideal for going out at night partying, full of bars and restaurants as well as casinos and entertainment, it is full of street performers, some of them very good, showgirls, singers, choristers, etc. an entertaining walk and cheaper than the strip.

Fascinating wander around downtown Las Vegas with a really knowledgeable local. We met on the steps of the Mob Museum and Rick told us some of the history of the building, the museum and mob (alleged or otherwise!) connections to Las Vegas. We then walked to and inside many downtown icons with Rick providing lots of interesting history and background info. There were three of us on this tour. I think the maximum Rick takes is 6 so you are guaranteed a personalized tour and to get your questions answered.
Rick's restaurant recommendations were spot on too - the Thai place he suggested was marvelous.

What an interesting tour! Had I of walked Fremont street on my own I would have never fully noticed or appreciated the history, effort, and beauty of this unique part of Las Vegas. Our guide was incredible. Rick is so knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about Las Vegas past present and future. Through him I learned that Las Vegas has and is reinventing itself all the time. This city is home to people who care about its future and its citizens; as a tourist it’s easy to forget that. I strongly recommend this fun and fascinating tour; when I come back to Vegas, I will definitely do it again!

This tour was so much fun. It was entertaining and informative. Rick has a passion for what he does and his background is in culture and has lived and worked in Vegas for a long time. You can tell how much he cares about the topic and is knowledgable. I enjoy walking tours when I visit cities. I've donne some where someone has just memorized a script and can't answer any questions not in what they've been told. Rick created this tour and he can answer questions and give his thoughts on a variety of topics. I highly recommend that you do this tour on your first day as he gives some great suggestions to things to check out. He has a great energy and is fun to be around. It's a nice small size group so it feels more intimate which lends itself to a lot of interaction and asking questions.
I'll be recommending this tour to everyone who I know that visits Vegas. Tip: If you're staying on the strip and taking the Deuce bus, add in extra time for the construction that's going on. I was coming from the south end at Excalibur and it took 20 minutes longer than what Google maps said but luckily I'd padded in an extra 30 minutes in my planning just in case.

Thanks for your very thoughtful response to the tour. I like to think of the tour as a conversation of sorts that the visitor has with the City/Downtown and you have totally gotten the point. Also thanks for your caution on travel time from the Strip to Downtown- it seems to be a year when road construction is everywhere. Happy trails!

This was an amazing tour! The guide was superb. He was very knowledgeable and shared wonderful history of the town with us. We spent 2 hours walking around exploring the ins and outs of Fremont Street. So cool!!

This was an awesome tour that should not be missed when coming to Las Vegas. Rick, our tour guide, is the best! He gives a really fun tour of downtown with many unexpected surprises along the way. His knowledge of the city is amazing and he is clearly very passionate about the area and the tourists who come to visit. The arts district also has some great places for lunch. Do not miss this great experience! We will be back. Thank you Rick!

Amazing experience ever! Rick is really the BEST tour guide in Vegas. If you really want to experience Vegas in a deep and knowledgeable way, this is the place. Do NOT LEAVE Vegas without taking this tour!

The tour is two hours long, and ends with a cocktail at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino. I agree with TanyaGT that if you plan to see a show, definitely allow time to get to that venue, as traffic can be congested, especially on the weekends!

We are a family of four and my daughter will be 18 when we visit next year in April. Rest of us are over 21 so can we book this tour- she does not drink of course.

My husband and I would love to do this tour, but we have a 1yr old. Is she allowed? She's good to go in the stroller for the tour, but I see that it's not wheel chair accessible, so if it's not stroller accessible, I can put her in a carrier and wear her. I promise she won't have the drink at the end. We are also staying at El Cortez, so if she's a problem, we can leave. Can she come 😊Please let me know. Thank you.

HI Jessica~The tour does go into some of the casinos which allow smoking. Otherwise most of the tour is outdoors and last about 2 hours. The baby carrier would be the best option. If you have any other concerns, I suggest you contact them directly on their website Las Vegas Pop Culture Tours

Hello AyanaFG, I've had a quick look online, and see a number of 1-888-387-0430 as a number to contact them on. I'm sorry, I'm not at home (in Las Vegas), just now, so I don't have Rick's business card to hand (to confirm that number). Zoe (my wife) and I went on a walk with Rick, and he was fantastic. I reckon he'd do a fantastic custom group trip for you. When Zoe and I went, it was just us two, and Rick really tailored the walk to account for our particular amount of knowledge.
