My best friend and I returned to Las Vegas this year to celebrate her retirement. We had been in 2019 also.
We booked this tour to see the fabled Valley of Fire and Lost City (Anasazi) and were delighted to find there were just 4 of us plus our guide Eli in the clean SUV for the 7 hour trip.
Eli picked us up at our resort, and along with a pair of twin sisters, we headed out on our adventure, complete with Subway sandwich meals, lots of snacks and bottled water available throughout the trip. It was a lovely clear day for sightseeing!
Eli was friendly, knowledgeable, and informative about the history and geology of the region as we traveled. There was a good mix of driving time, hiking time, and break times. We were all very comfortable.
This was a great alternative to bigger bus tours, much more personalized. We had input into where and when to spend time, within reason, and keep on his schedule.
It was a great experience!

I took the Valley of Fire Tour on November 25th with
The tour guide was Paul and he was a wealth of information. He was patient, knowledgeable and provided a ton of insightful details about plants and wildlife that live in the park. Pllus he had a great sense of humour.
This was my first time in a desert environment and I was impressed with the setting and photo opportunities.
If i am ever back in the Las Vegas area, I will definitely take another tour with Adventure Photo Tours and ask for Paul.
The only disappointment was the Lost City Museum was closed for American Thanksgiving.

My friend and I went to Las Vegas to see the Rolling Stones and took this trip on our extra day there. Clayton was our guide and he did a wonderful job of showing us so many special spots in the Valley of Fire. We hiked, took pictures, learned about the history of the park and the territory, and enjoyed a great day in beautiful weather.

What wonderful views! The tour was good, but if I had to do again, I would have looked for one that just went to the valley of Fire as I would have liked to have had more time there to view and explore. The museum was ok, but I think we could have gotten as much from the visitor’s center.
Even though we were not staying on the strip, they still
picked us up at our hotel. Lunch was a basic sandwich and chips, which was good. Planned bathroom stops along the way. The minimum number didn’t make, so we paid a bit more so we could go.
Our guide was informative to a degree, but I was more interested in the landscape than the houses being built. He did point out some of the more interesting and unique formations- it was fun to see what shapes you could find.
Although we didn’t feel rushed, it would have been helpful to have had some general guidelines for time along the way. Maybe make one or two longer to allow for some exploration of the area. The views are so amazing, and the rock formations are incredible!! Overall it was a fantastic day and we’d do it again!!

Hi, and thank you for the review. You are quite correct, the Valley of Fire is so spectacular you could spend days there and never be bored. Although, we tried to design this tour so the folks can have a great days outing and still be back in Vegas early enough to go lounge at the pool, go to dinner and then a show. Everyone loves to do it all in Las Vegas and this tour helps to facilitate the goal. Please join us again and so glad you enjoyed Nevada's best kept secret.

Because there were not enough people for a full tour we ended up paying more for a private tour with Paul McCormick - who was fabulous. He is knowledgeable, interesting, competent, and very considerate. He asked our interests and tailored the trip to the things we really wanted to see. We chose this tour (over some other offerings) because it offered a trip to the Lost Museum - a 'must' see - and also petroglyphs. I am a passionate fan of anything archaeological and the opportunity to see these up close was irresistible. His experience in world travel and awareness of other cultures made him the perfect guide for us. I would highly recommend him and suggest you talk with Adventure Photo Tours to find out about a more intimate tour experience - worth the extra expense - just fabulous!!

What a great review, Paul will love this when I post it. Valley of Fire & Lost City Museum is like being immersed in a vat of early American history and visual experiences that are intoxicating. I call this tour the best kept secret in Nevada. So glad you found it and tried it.

Barry was terrific. We had the perfect day. He greeted us with a friendly smile and a warm hello. He brought us a snack. Barry was very engaging. Always calling us by name. Lunch at the cabins was fun and relaxing. Nice sense of humor as well very knowledgeable of the area.

Tour guide Barry was excellent--and so was his assistant Jim! We appreciated their knowledge of the geological topography and history of the area, the snacks, drinks and lunches they provided, their willingness to take pictures of us, and their flexibility around what our interests were. The landscape was truly outstanding--unlike anything we had seen before! They took us to see the petroglyphs, which were amazing! Though we had seen other pueblo sites, the museum was also very interesting.

Marcus picked us up promptly at 7:30 at our hotel in a very nice Ford Expedition. We made two more quick stops for additional guests and headed out of Vegas. With only the five of us, we had plenty of room to stretch out. Marcus began sharing information about our day at the park as well as some Las Vegas history. We arrived at the park in about an hour and were simply in awe of the beauty of this place. Marcus worked his way to various scenic stops where we got out and took all the photos that we wanted. He offered water and snacks throughout the trip. Lunch was delicious sandwiches at a picnic table at the Seven Sisters rock formation. We finished the trip at the Lost City Museum which is staffed by very friendly folks. A truly magical way to spend our last day of vacation.

Barry was a great tour guide. He was very focused on what we wanted to do and how long we wanted to stay at a spot to take pictures. He was very informative and showed us things he thought were very special. The sights were amazing.

Recently We had the honor to take a tour to Valley of Fire with Chris our tour guide. This was an amazing trip and we were happy to take this outstanding adventure. Chris was very accommodating and made sure everyone was satisfied. You will not be disappointed with this tour and we highly recommend Chris as your leader.

How much walking is there, and is it difficult? I am an 'older' 'desk jockey' not in the best shape. but love to travel and love natural wonders. Traveling in January.

Do you get to see the fire wave rock formation on this tour ?

Hi,
The fire wave rock is at the end of a short trail and virtually all of the tours do not do this to my knowledge as most tours just have brief walks and photo stops not hikes. If you booked a private tour then you could do the hike ( take water with you and avoid the hottest months.

It is an hour or so of beautiful driving to get there. You can take as long as you want while there (we took about two hours). Then the trip back to Vegas. A nice 6 hour day for sure.
BTW - take water and a lunch.....no restaurants are available.

i was there in November then not hot , i was wearing safari jacket on my polo.
Important to have shoes to walk easily in sand.
You can choose lunch during booking
The guide/driver gives bottles of water free
Squirrels come to you in the place to eat
