Birding by Boat
One of the best boat trips! Captain Bob was so helpful spotting birds and took us all over Cape May Inlet and Sunset Lake.

I love this sunset safari trip!! The captain and the birding specialist are so knowledgeable and are excited to show you all the coastal birds during the trip! Bonus is a lovely sunset to enjoy on the way home. We do this every few years and enjoy it every time!!

Evening of relaxation in the tidal marsh of Cape May
Very knowledgeable captain and naturalist shared lots of information about the large variety of shore birds we saw. Tour included binoculars.

MORE life birds!

We had so much fun on the morning safari tour on the 9th, that we went back for the Sunset Safari on the 10th.

We were so thrilled at the numbers of birds and variety of species! Erica and Bob were so knowledgeable, and when we told them which birds would be life-birds for us, they went out of their way to point them out, explain the field markings, and make sure we had excellent views of each one.

In addition to the life birds from the day before, on this day we added Clapper Rail, Tricolored Heron, and Boat-tailed Grackle to our life list!

We highly recommend Birding by Boat on the Osprey! We're definitely going to make this a part of every Cape May vacation.

Best Birding Activity of Cape May
Captain Bob and his first mate know their birds and where to find them. Very enjoyable sunset cruise. No fear of seasickness. Easy to move around the boat in the enclosed area or out on the open front deck. Sit or stand; it’s up to you. Everyone gets a clear view.

The welcoming and knowledgeable captain Bob and the naturalist (whose name I forget) made the trip enjoyable and educational.
We were scheduled for the 5 PM sunset cruise which had to be canceled. Thankfully, we were given the opportunity to join the afternoon cruise ! Our review is for the afternoon (1:30).

High point of our trip to Cape May

Both of us are really into nature, and this was the high point of our trip to Cape May. We saw lots of birds. The captain and naturalist were very knowledgable.

Best time of our trip to Cape May!
The captain and “first mate” mate were great - informative, skilled, knowledgeable about birds, and patient with our young children. All seven of us loved learning about the birds and seeing the “secretive” birds. Gorgeous sunset. And I’ve never seen so many egrets in my life!

We saw snowy egrets, great egrets, ospreys, bald eagles, Great blue herons, plovers, clapperrails, and more!

A Beautiful and Well-done Tour

We found the trip really interesting, very educational, and extremely enjoyable. It was casual, but well-organized, and the the whole experience was beautiful. My son declared it the highlight of our 4-day visit to Cape May!
