Dear Deborah and Linda, We are really sad that you didn’t enjoy your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that we didn’t meet your expectations, so we tried to figure out what happened that day in order to improve our service and avoid this situation again. We tried to contact you after seeing this message, but we didn’t have the opportunity to talk to you. We tried to speak with your guide to see exactly what happened and we hope to bring you some answers / explanations / apologies through this channel. About the bikes, I checked them out to know if there was anything wrong with them and I found that the back wheelbase of one of the bikes was not properly tightened, maybe this was the reason why the chain was falling and the break rub was touching the tire. I already fixed it and I apology for that problem. About the flat tires before the tour started, it is something that we discussed with your guide, so that he always double checks the gear one day before the tour in the future, we assure that this will never happen again. Aside from these two issues that have been resolved, the bicycles are in good condition and their maintenance is up to date. I talked to your guide to see if he noticed something out of normal on your bikes and he told me that you mentioned several times electric bikes, which could help you in the uphill slopes, he understood that you have this type of e-bikes back home and maybe that was the reason why you struggled with the bikes provided. It is quite common in the type of semi-desert ground of this route, to find thorns, spines and rocks that can burst the tires of the bike, that is why the tires had tube system with self-healing liquid. However, it is sometimes not enough and we occasionally need to stop to fix a couple of flat tires (that is the reason why your guide always has tools to repair them) and even more if some of the travelers unintentionally ride over a fallen branch of a local tree that is full of thorns (which is the reason why in your case you had 3 flat tires consecutively at that moment of the tour). It is totally normal, our guides are prepared for this situation, and it is the price to pay to ride among cactus and enjoy these amazing landscapes ;) Sadly, the river was muddy because of the rains of the past days, which is, unfortunately, something out of our control. We checked the weather forecast to prevent any problem before the tour, but several streams coming from different parts of the Sierra Gorda flows into this river: if it is raining in one of them, the water gets cloudy and that's why we can't observe a clear and limpid water as we can observe during dry season. In addition to this, your guide provided you with water since the beginning of the adventure, but it seems that there was a misunderstanding, and we apologize for that. Overall, we are really sorry that you keep a bad memory of your adventure. We strongly apologize for the technical problems and invite you to come back with us (free of charge), during dry season, to enjoy the canyon as you pictured it and get a second opportunity to live an Exxi experience.
