Muluye is a great guide, very knowledgeable and a very nice person too! I highly recommend him for any tour in the Lalibela region.

Visiting the rock churches of Lalibela was one of the most impressive travel experiences we have ever had. Their architectural style is unique. And they are not museums, but places of intensely lived faith. And with Muluye Tsegaw we had the best guide you could imagine. He knows everything and you can feel his deep spiritual connection to these holy places. Muluye is simply infectious with his enthusiasm for these churches.
The cooking evening at Muluye and his wife's house was also a special experience. We were involved in the entire meal preparation. That was very interesting and a lot of fun.
Before our trip to Ethiopia we were sure that it would be a very special, unique trip. Now we are sure: we will come back - to Muluye!

Mulie is a fantatstic guide. He is rooted and well connected in Lalibela with a deep understanding of the culture and religion not only locally but Ethiopian-wide. He can answer all of your questions whether being related to archtitecture, history and social life. Mulie is well versed in English and attentive to cater to your individual needs while being fun to be around. He is well organized and his choice of transportation was modern and save.
We enjoyed our time very much and can highly recommend him.

Muluye eté mon guide pendant 2 jours pour decouvrir les sites de Lalibela.
Nous avons etablis ensemble un programme de visite qui me convenait avec ses suggestions.
Il a été d'une grande aide dans la comprehension de l'histoire de ces different lieux.

This was an exceptional tour of the historic religious sights around Lalibela. Muluya was a most attentive and engaging guide who provided a most informative tour. He was punctual and attended to our every request. The tours were well balanced and pitched just right for our needs. I really recommend this tour, even the drive to the Monastery was a highlight as we soaked up the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding area. We only spent two days in Lalibela but Muluya ensured that we saw everything that we needed to. As my fiance is Orthodox, he also added special touches to the tour to make her experience more memorable and rewarding. He was also a great source of information on touring on Ethiopia and I learnt an awful lot on The history and nature of this beautiful country from him. If we are every in the area again then we would definitely call upon the services of Muluya. Anyone who wishes to escape Addis Ababa for a few days and see more of Ethiopia would do well to book this tour. We take away fantastic memories from our visit to Lalibela and most of this is down to the experience on the tours with Muluya. Thank you so very much!

It was worth it. Did only an overnight stay in Lalibela and booked everything on
a whim and based on recommendation. Zagol Tours was recommended by the hotel (Sora Lodge --- excellent views!) and Muluye was already kindly giving me info about Lalibela during the ride from airport to the hotel. I'm glad I did the Lalibela tour with Zagol Tours.
The 2-day tour ran for about 3-4 hours each day and Muluye was sharing a lot of information about the place. I appreciated this as I knew next to nothing and had zero-preparations about the trip. I saw and experienced everything Lalibela could offer in the 24 hours I was there. I also was grateful to Muluye who very kindly attended to me while I wasn't 100% in good shape during the tour and even shared some Lalibela honey for my sore throat.
If you want a hassle-free tour of Lalibela (or anywhere in Ethiopia!) (and booking on a whim like me), you can fully rely on Zagol Tours and Muluye to make everything worth it.

We're a couple that were short on time. This tour was fantastic!! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. He thoroughly explained in detail all the churches and keenly answered all of our questions. Highly recommend!! It was sad to leave Lalibela...we leave with great memories!!
