This was absolutely one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! The guide was local and very knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive! The tour left on time but he made sure he had everyone before leaving. Upon arriving at Chacchoben I immediately saw the difference and benefit of booking the tour via Trip Advisor vs the cruise line: 1: the price was nearly half off 2: the cruise line tours had groups of 70-80 people with a guide with a loudspeaker yelling out random facts and moving fast 3: my tour group had about 9 people, the guide (because he was a local guy) have us an actual detailed accounting of the cultural history of the Mayan people (including answering every single question asked) and he took his time and made sure we got all the pictures that we wanted! Finally he made sure we were back to the port with hours to spare! This is my first time using Trip Advisor to book an excursion, and this will be how I do it from now on!! If you are having any doubts (I did too), I promise you this is the way to go!!

Great tour and very knowledgeable. We had a great time and our driver dropped us off to Krazy lobster. Our tour was very smooth.

The guided tour of the Mayan temple was an incredible experience! The guide explained in detail the history, culture and architecture of the Mayans, and his stories revealed the spiritual significance and astrological connections of the temple. We learned about ancient rituals, daily life and exotic nature growing around. The tour was perfectly planned - we felt like we were traveling back in time. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the Mayan civilization!

It took a while to find the meeting point (to the right of the replica of a Mayan pyramid). Once there we were well received by our guide (Rafael Esquivel) who gave us an interesting explanation about the area as well as on the visited site of Chacchoben. On the way back we were given the opportunity to taste the delicious honey pineapple (specialty of the region). Rafael together with the driver Daniel have done more than their best to make this trip an educational and pleasant one.

Our guide was excellent! We had a private family tour with my 1 year old grandson. Our guide went above and beyond for us we were very happy with the service. He was dedicated to us and looked out for our safety, he was extremely knowledgeable about the ruins and the area.

Our big family together took this tour. Tour vehicle was OK. Finding the location was little difficult, as its outside the port, needed to walk a lot to reach the pickup location.
Reception was also OK. The tour part was good, was able to see Mayan ruins, guide/driver was informative and funny. It was a lot humid that day.

A very personal experience provided by our fantastic guide Rafael. He knows so much about the ruins and Mayan culture. The van was completely comfortable and we ended up feeling as if we had made a new friend. We highly recommend this tour with Rafael as the guide.

We really enjoyed this trip. The van was clean and comfortable. Cold water was readily available. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Recommended this trip. Our guide Octavio is very knowledgeable about mayan history. Everything is smooth on our trip to see the chaccoben, we are a family of 4 with a 1 year old baby

We absolutely loved this excursion, our guide Elliot was amazing. Such an amazing learning experience with amazing food. Lots of fun. Always feel good about supporting local businesses and people.
