This is a must do tour!

Excellent excursion from booking to arriving back at Port. We booked this excursion while on a cruise to Cozumel. The communication from the time of booking was excellent. Wonderful and friendly staff, comfortable transportation with good AC, and great communication. We loved every minute of this excursion from the ruins tour, the tasty lunch, and beautiful Lagoon tour amd stop at the pirate channel. Perfect day well spent. This is a must do tour. Very consciousness of time and arrived back to the port with plenty of time to be back in board. Loved this tour!

Best experience ever!!!

We had our own private vehicle that took us to both Chacchoben Ruins & Bacalar 7 Colir Lagoon. Tino was our guide and he went above and beyond to make my party enjoy every second of this excursion.

We left our ship a little later then usual because another ship docked next to us. The port was busy with 3 ships so it took us a while to get to Chac Ek Tours through all the passengers at Port. Tino and Chac Ek Tours waited patiently for us and gave us beverages to cool us down.

We were pressed for time so Tino spoke with a lady at the Ruins to give us a speedy tour. We learned a lot and I was very happy to hear about Mayan culture and tradition, as well as take pictures with my family.

We moved on to Bacalar 7 Color Lagoon. Tino and his team gave us a description of the history of Bacalar. The water was amazing and the beers and liquor helped us enjoy the water even more! Seriously one of the most beautiful places I've seen and we're all from Hawaii.

He took us to eat some great Mexican food. That Habanero salsa is spicy but it tasted so damn good. And he made sure we made it back to the ship on time. 5 stars out of 5 stars, and I would definitely recommend anybody reading this to book with Chac Ek Tours. You're extra lucky if you have Tino as your guide as well.

A MUST do for any cruise excursion!

Thus was a great experience! Leo was a fantastic guide! Fully prepared and knowledgeable and ready to teach us the Mayan culture. The trip to the ruins was cut a little short due to rain but that didn't stop the fun.

Then off to the lagoon. Absolutely stunning! The pictures don't do it justice. It looked like a bay right on the coast but it was fresh water...which messed with me a bit. But it was so beautiful. We probably stayed a couple minutes too long but our driver Chucky made sure we got back in plenty of time to make the boat.

A Truly Amazing Experience

We booked this excursion through Tripadvisor after watching a very informative video on Youtube and we are so glad that we did! We disembarked as soon as we could from the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Sea and walked out of the port to meet with the tour group. They had sent us instructions of where to meet in advance, so it easy finding our way to the meeting area. They had staff waiting with signs along the long walking path out of the port, so it's hard to miss. They guided us to the check-in area where we met with our guide and loaded us up onto a very nice tour van with great AC. We had 9 people from our ship + guide + driver. Our guide asked us where we wanted to start the day - either the 7 Colors Lagoon or the Chacchoben Ruins - our group picked the ruins. Our guide was very knowledgeable and seemed to really care about Mayan history and nature. He spent the entire drive to Chacchoben presenting historical / nature / cultural facts with photobooks that he passed around. We got there earlier than the rest of the other tourists as our group mobilized early - this really helped to get a lot of great photos without the wait and without other people in the background. We then headed to the Bacalar 7-Colors Lagoon and we were offered water and snacks on the van, which was very nice. When we arrived, we hopped on a boat that was waiting for us The Lagoon was THE HIGHLIGHT of the trip! It is one of the most beautiful and amazing places we have ever been! They offered us tequilas, beers and sodas on the boat - this was a nice touch! We explored the cenotes and headed to the shallow white soft sand area where we swam in the fresh waters. Just sitting in this water was surreal and so relaxing. After this amazing experience, they took us to a Mexican restaurant where they had food / drinks waiting for us (they took our orders when we checked in). The food was very good especially after a long day - they had a lot of super spicy hot sauce options, so be careful! They dropped us off back at the port and it was just in time to get back on-board the ship. I would highly recommend this excursion and company! It was a very well planned and guided experience that exceeded all of our expectations!

Booked this tour as a day trip off a cruise ship as a family with 2 teenagers. Booking and pre departure communications seamless. Easy to find the guide getting off the cruise ship with the day being very well organised and run. We ended up having the guide all to ourselves which was great. Ruins were fascinating and lagoon was beautiful. Drinks and snacks on offer all day - all included as well as a stop at an authentic Mexican restaurant which was great fun. Arrived back well in time for the cruise ship departure.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day - highly recommend!
Our guide was Carolina who we couldn't recommend more - a lovely, knowledgeable lady who was full of interesting information - not just about the ruins and lagoon but also about Mexico and life in Mexico. Did a great job of avoiding crowds, getting what felt like exclusive moments during the day and kept our two teenagers thoroughly engaged!
Highly recommend Chac Ek Costa Maya and if you're lucky enough to get Carolina you've hit the jackpot.

Best tour on this stop!

Elisa was such a joy as a guide! Learned a ton, laughed a lot, enjoyed the smaller group, enjoyed the little touches this tour operator thinks ahead about (cold beers and some tequila shots, snacks, having a tour guide separate from bus driver so conversation is a lot more back and forth!, great meal stop included) just felt like a fun day, cool ruins, amazingly beautiful lagoon swimming, and a tour operator who really cares and doesn’t nickel and dime you or make you feel like cattle. Highly recommend!

Book it already!

Absolutely love it! Chac Ek Costa Maya nailed it with this one.

We had about 5 ppl total in our group, 3 from our group and 2 from another group, who also were from our ship. Our guide was Leo and our driver was Andres (Perro) lol.
After about a 15 min walk through the port we found the Chac Ek location. We were greeted with a much needed ice cold water, which was consider a luxury at the time since they was a current ice shortage. Everyone booked for the day arrived early so we were able to get a good head start on the rest of the groups from other companies.
One the ride, we were provided with snacks and a wealth of information from Leo regarding the local area and Mayan history. Us being huge fans of history we asked Leo a bunch of questions regarding Mayan history and he had the answer for every one!
After about a 45 min ride, we were the first group to arrive to Chacchoben. We were able to get a ton of great pictures without the crowds and people in the background. Leo provided us with some more great information about the site and even took us to a spot to see some spider monkeys!
Off to the lagoon! After having a few shots of tequila, we made our way to Bacalar Lagoon, where we had a pontoon boat waiting for us. More snacks, water and tequila were available. We stopped at two separate spots to swim, cool off and take some amazing pictures. The water is so clear and refreshing. It was nice to get a break from the the salt water.
The tacos were overall good and I enjoyed trying the different homemade sauces.
We finally left and made it back to the port with plenty of time to spare before All Aboard time.
I highly recommend Chac Ek for their customer service, wealth of knowledge, amenities and punctuality.

Amazing customer service!

I am SO impressed with Chac Ek's customer service so far. I booked a tour for 4 adults for January 2024. Since I seldom use PayPal, I misread the invoice and paid the entire $660 instead of the deposit of $80.

I contacted Chac Ek and Baudelio issued a refund the next day!! Amazing!!! Thank you, Baudelio! Based on the excellent customer service, we can't wait for our tour! Thank you again....see you on Jan 4.

Best Experience on our Trip

We got to the ruins a little later thank expected because the other party in our group arrived at pickup point late. So we didn’t get to see as much of ruins as o would like. It is on a bit of a tight schedule because of the drive. But the lagoon, was one the best places I have ever seen. And the stop for tacos at the end was also amazing. Great food! And our guide Leo made the whole experience the best we have ever had. His knowledge of the area and history of the culture even fascinated my teenagers, which is almost impossible! I can’t recommend this tour enough. Was a great time and an unforgettable experience.
