We LOVED this activity at Costa Maya. They give you all the gear you need and are so welcoming. I'm not a strong swimmer and it was NO problem. I was in the ocean and Miguel helped me by giving me an extra float. I was definitely out of my comfort zone and I enjoyed every minute of it. We went through Royal Caribbean Cruise and they took such good care of us.

Easy to find the hotel, although it is quite a walk from the ship to the taxi rank. Taxi should cost about $8 but we were charged 12 going. On reaching Hotel, we were greeted by Caroline, who was very friendly and sorted us out with beach beds, drinks etc. The weather was very windy so the snorkelling was delayed at first then ultimately cancelled. This was mainly due to us, and the boat captain agreed with us about the safety. This apart, we did snorkel off the beach and it was good, albeit in Avery strong current. We saw fish, crabs and a stingray which was great. Henry was great at bringing the drinks which were plentiful. We ate a great meal which was very big but tasty, you may not require a starter. All in all a great day out on the beach in Casa Maya
