We had an awesome day with chef Jackie. We sat out on the beach making our delicious food drinking ice cold margaritas (delicious!!!!) She taught us how to make an amazing salsa and delicious guacamole. What a wonderful relaxing day. Directions to get there from the pier where excellent. Highly recommend if you're in Costa Maya to do this.

Four of us really enjoyed this excursion. Jackie and her team were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for Costa Maya bound cruisers.

What an amazing experience!! Jackie and her team were wonderful. It was so much fun!
Directions and communications prior to our visit were great, all of our questions were answered and we had no issues. The cooking class was so much fun and the food we made was excellent. I would highly recommend this activity to everyone.

We went on this tour through the cruise line. First of all, what upset us is that there was NO WATER TO FLUSH THE TOILET OR WATER TO WASH YOUR HANDS.
Many of us complained about this. All the workers said, this is a small town...and we said what does that have to do with it?
Can you imagine all these people in this tour not washing their hands and going back to the ship?
I would not go to this place again , even if it was free.
They should be shut down.

hi we sorry about your expirience , actually we are a small town , and sometimes we have water iss .
but always is a few minuts and then it works.
is so hard to recomend that wee need to close, if you talk with the chef she can give you a good answer about the water problem.
we send love, and good expirience in your others tours

Where do I start..We were every late getting to our taxi and to area. When we got there.. they greeted us with total open arms. Treated us like family. Had the most awesome time making Mocaheta Salsa..My Favorite and Guacamole to boot. Well. I freaked them out with adding 4 serranos peppers to my salsa, and it was too hot for them!! Lol. They were so accommodating for us. Had my wife, and my older sister and 84 year old mother who are 1st time cruisers, and we all had the time of our lives.. talking with everyone, learning Spanish and sharing our world with them. Even though they do not have very much comforts like we do, they are very rich in hospitality. Love love love the Excursion!!

We were booked for 1pm through TripAdvisor app but wanted to be sure we could find Cantina so we went as soon as we disembarked. We arrived at 1150 and met Jackie who announced she was the chef and we could begin right away if we wished. With nothing else on the schedule we started the Salsa class right away at Cantina. I recommend that you not eat a large breakfast on the ship because there is much food to eat after you make it. We made a guacamole dip and Ceviche and then we ate them. During the cooking I drank three beers and my wife had a very large and very good Pina Colada. All included in the price. We chatted with Jackie for another 20 minutes then they took us to their other restaurant on the beach where we were offered more included food and more included drinks. As advertised, they paid the taxi to the beach and when we were ready to return, they walked us to the taxi stand. They told me to only pay four dollars each for the ride back. I gave the cab driver a ten. Just remember to not eat a lot before you go as there is much food included in the price of this excursion.

Valerie was great at giving instructions. All the ingredients for the salsa and quacamole were fresh. It was so much fun. Everyone was very nice.

This is the perfect thing to do in Costa Maya!!!! We had a private experience with our chef Jackie! She was simply delightful!! The whole crew there just treated us like family and royalty both!! The salsa and guacamole were absolutely the BEST and then on top of it, the well drinks were the best margaritas I’ve ever had!!! (And I drink a lot of margaritas) We walked across the street to hammocks and beach chairs under palms across the street right on the beach. You won’t believe me when I tell you- they have gals giving massages out on the beach (which seems a little like a way to get American’s $) but they were giving 5min free massages and the ladies are the most intelligent massage therapists I’ve ever encountered!!! I immediately signed up for a 60 min massage ($50 btw) and it was hands down the best massage of my LIFE!!!!- they must also have some physical therapy schooling because she knew so much about the body and how to help the muscles! You will miss out if you do not do both of these!! It’s the perfect balance of new experience, relaxing and beach time!! Do this!!
