This tour is a definitive "must" if you are visiting Victor Harbor. The crew including our captain & guide, were amazing. They were friendly & very knowledgeable about a range of local topics including, the wildlife & the history of the seafarers of long ago. The scenery was truly awesome. Do yourself a favour & make a booking on the Big Duck, you won't regret it.

A great trip along Victor Harbour’s coast, a view I’ve never experienced before. Great commentary and we saw seals and lots of dolphins!

A big thank you to the team at Big Duck Boat Tours!
A perfect 90 minute 'taster' of Victor Harbour's wildlife.
We were initially booked in for a Monday tour. Whilst originally disappointed that this was postponed on Sunday due to predicted bad weather, we were ultimately grateful. Monday's weather was atrocious. Windy, choppy conditions would have made the tour really unpleasant. So, take heed those that complain about a cancelled tour...it's done for good reason!
Happily, we were re-booked on a Wednesday tour and blessed with calm seas and sunny skies.
Within two minutes we were amongst the action, a big pod of dolphins who had no qualms swimming up to, and beside the boat. Great start.
We moved on to a few more little islands around Victor Harbour spotting seals and some different types of smaller dolphin playfully tracking the boat, darting back and forth in close proximity.
We then made our way along the base of Waitpinga Cliffs. Amazing. We'd walked atop them the day before (pack Aerogard!!), though to view them from the base and on the water gave a completely different perspective.
Thank you to the crew and their commentary. Informed, yet informal. Just what you hope for.
(Pro tip for those who choose the front two seats of the boat: Brilliant unobstructed views...though as the boat comes to a stand-still to view the wildlife...water will ebb in around your toes. So, pack a spare pair of socks or wear thongs!)
Overall, a wonderful way to spend 90 minutes in a little gem of a Harbour. Victor Harbour.

It was great value for money. We saw a gorgeous coastline and had a fantastic view (up close and personal!) with the bottlenose dolphins with a friendly crew.

Our trip was fabulous. Water was spectacular, the crew were very knowledgeable. We saw lots of birds, seals, awesome scenery and they made sure we saw dolphins also.

It was a fantastic boat ride with great commentary. Saw lots wildlife, the dolphins were my favourite. No whales unfortunately. I would advice warm coat as it was cold and a hair tie for longer hair, beanie would of been good for the cold ears. Overall I would definitely recommend doing this, worth the money!

An amazing afternoon out. The boat has seats undercover from the middle to back of the boat. Also a small number of seats at the front with seatbelts if you’re after more of a thrill going over the waves. We saw many seals and dolphins on the trip - whales were not expected at this time of year. The guides shared interesting information about the landmarks and marine life. It was a rough afternoon with 2-3 meter swells so the trip was like a roller coaster ride. Heaps of fun provided you don’t get sea sick easily. Makes for a lovely day out, especially when paired with other tourist attractions at victor harbour.
Can highly recommend and would go again. Thanks to the operators.
