Shiela Dunsmoore was very personable and went deeply into the history that interested us. In about three hours she covered Henry VIII and the wives and a lot more. We focused on the Tudor portion of the buildings. We were well satisfied.

Amazing tour by Sheila! Extensive and first hand knowledge from her experience working at the palace! She tailored this to our interests and gave insights that we wouldn’t have learned without the tour. She made this interesting for all levels of prior knowledge (I knew alittle more going in than my husband did. He was along for the ride, but ended up learning a lot and enjoyed it.) Don’t hesitate to take this tour with Sheila, I highly recommend it!!

My wife and I took an amazing tour with Sheila. She very quickly was able to figure out what would interest us and lead a very captivating couple of hours around Hampton Court. We look forward to coming back and staying at the hotel on the grounds.

Sheila is a phenomenal guide. She has a comprehensive knowledge of history of Hampton Court and Henry VIII.
This was the best tour we had during our entire vacation.
Taking a private tour was worthwhile. We saw more in small group than we would have seen on a group tour.

This was an incredible tour! Sheila did such a good job walking us through the palace and explaining the Tudor history to my family and I. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that we had to deal with a few public tours that took priority over us so it was difficult to stay in tour-worthy areas like the kitchens and the Great Hall. Sheila maneuvered like a champ though and moved us along. Even gave us a great ghost story!

Don’t recognise your name. However I think you were the family who had the French student with you. ?Apologies if this is wrong.
Firstly thank you for lovely review, and apologies that I had to manoeuvre your family through the great hall and Kitchens.
The guides do have a daily briefing memo that we can see what’s going on in the Palace and work out our tours accordingly. Unfortunately this day there was no notification that a costume guide would be in the great hall when we went in there.The interpretations department ( costume guides)
take priority over the guides like myself. This doesn’t normally happen but this day the entertainment was impromptu by the lady in costume and not scheduled , so I couldn’t have planned ahead. This situation is out of my control.
However it was pleasure to take you and your family on tour.

We just took this tour and it was fantastic. Highly recommend! Sheila is the best guide. She has great historical knowledge and is a superb storyteller. We found the entire tour interesting and informative. We learned historical information we had not been exposed to before and it was shared in such an interesting way. Great tour!!

I went to Hampton Court with my mother, my brother and sister for a private tour with Sheila on october 5th. It was a great experience and Sheila is so friendly and accomadating. We made good memories on that day. Thank you very much for that!

My husband arranged a private tour with Sheila as a belated 60th birthday treat, as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.
I cannot recommend Sheila enough - we spent 3 1/2 hours going round the Palace & the time just flew by.
Sheila is extremely knowledgeable & eloquent. She made life at the palace in Tudor times come to life, as well as telling us some really spooky & interesting tales.
I absolutely loved my tour & can’t thank Sheila enough for taking me off the beaten track, as an extra treat.

It was my absolute pleasure , to take you and Paul around the Palace. You were so enthusiastic and knew so much already! I do hope the rest of your stay in the area was as enjoyable, and I do hope you have a lovely time at Hever Castle. Lovely pub near there called the King Henry VIII ( amazing roast).

Yesterday we toured Hampton Court Palace with Sheila. She was informative, interesting, & charming. Questions were answered and we learned so much. We highly recommend hiring Sheila as your experience will be so much better.

We will be coming from Gatwick. Is it possible to store luggage locally for 1/2 day? We will head to London later in day.
