My sister and I had a fantastic private tour of the Badlands with Randy! We took lots of pictures and learned so many interesting facts about South Dakota. Melina did a fantastic job accommodating our requests and keeping in touch throughout the entire booking process. We are extremely happy and grateful for the experience!

Eilan was excellent on our tour of the Badlands. She’s so much fun and knowledgeable. The van is comfortable and made many stops at points of interest. Loved the whole experience with Black Hills Tours.

We traveled to South Dakota in late September to explore its national parks and everything that the Rapid City surrounding area has to offer.
We found Kevin’s company on the internet and were impressed with his positive reviews. We were hoping to capture beautiful scenery including landscapes and wildlife. Kevin was able to deliver all of it and much more. He was punctual, courteous, and very knowledgeable about the things and places we wanted to see.
For example, he knew at what time we must leave our apartment and where we needed to be in the Badlands to catch the beautiful scenery at sunrise. We drove on dirt roads that were not found on any map to get to the best locations at the best light available.
Thanks to him we were able to shoot a lot of pictures of native animals like bison, pronghorn, elk, prairie dogs, etc. He was quick to spot an animal and point me in the right direction. He also was very meticulous in planning our daily trips. For example, he brought sandwiches on our trip to Devils Tower knowing we will not have time to stop for a meal to catch the sunset.
Overall, we were so happy to have Kevin as our tour guide. Thanks to him this trip has a 5++ star rating in our books, and we hope to find someone as good as him when planning our next trip to a national park.

Kevin gave us a thorough trip to Badlands and Minuteman Missile launch site. His knowledge base is extensive about the history of the area. He individualized our trip to include a hike- searching for fossils and bones was a blast! Our picnic lunch was delicious - attention was given to our dietary needs and comfort. Wall drug was included in our trip also- nice bookstore there.

Badlands topography is awesome; millions of years of historical geological site, must visit in South Dakota, USA.
We had a one day private tour with Blackhills tours; our guide Joel is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about showing many hidden areas in Badlands National park which is not possible to see without a well travelled person in there.
Owners Melina and Kevin have arranged our tour very well; reasonable prices for a private tour.
Highly recommend Blackhills tour company for all the tours in South Dakota area.

Our driver & guide, Joel, was very friendly and informative. We learned a lot about the geology of this fascinating area. The picnic lunch was great. Rode in comfort in their touring van.

We had an absolutely wonderful day with our guide in the Badlands. We explored all the different areas of the park and saw a lot of different animals throughout the park. We also stopped at Wall Drugs, which I was told before going to the Badlands that it was a "Must See" and it definitely did not disappoint us. All in all I would say that it was well worth the money.

We had an amazing time touring the badlands with Joel! He is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area. He catered the tour to our needs and was flexible with stopping and showing us places of interest. He taught us all about the badlands and their formation and took us to a real ghost town. We got to see a whole side of the badlands that we would not have seen had it not been for Joel guiding us. He even showed us some fossils he discovered. We all loved it - from 9 to 85 years old! This is a can’t miss tour!

My son and I actually did two private full-day e-bike rides, both with Randy as our guide, Badlands and Mickelson Trail. Our most expensive activity in a jammed week of Black Hills adventuring, but also the best, aided by perfect weather too. All arrangements I made via email and telecon with Melina, one of the co-owners, who was so knowledgeable and very accessible, advised the best rides for us, and suggested additional options at either end of the rides for things nearby—at Badlands we chose the Minuteman Missile NPS Historic Site over a ghost town and scenic drive (no scenery could surpass the ride itself); after Mickelson Trail, the Miner Brewery in Hill City was perfect. Logistics were flawless, a comfortable modern van, water and picnic lunches prepared by Randy. The first day meetup was at a Rapid City hotel. Second day, Randy and Melina agreed he’d pick us up at our Roosevelt Inn in Keystone, nearby to Mickelson; we greatly appreciated that flexibility. Randy is a long-term resident, has at least three bikes himself for all seasons, and shared lots of information about the area from personal experiences. Melina is now ordering us Black Hills Tours shirts at our request (and expense), but it’s another example of their extra effort for us.

Our family of 5 (3 boys under 15) did the day trip to the Badlands. Kevin & Jennifer were our tour guides. The van was spacious and comfortable. Kevin was very knowledgeable and friendly. They accommodated us perfectly. Kudos to Kevin for handling my kids’ requests to go “off roading”. I feel like Kevin tailored the trip to us and veered from the norm a bit to show us some beautiful spots. It was pretty windy the day we went so a windbreaker was useful. Kevin had a nice, fresh lunch packed for us. The day lasted longer than we expected which was nice. We didn’t feel rushed at all. Great day. Glad we booked with them. They should have made the boys wash the van ;)
