After some confusion over the pick up point our driver was great. He brought his car nearer to us due to the rain he supplied us with bottles of water and give us useful information on where to visit and how to get there.

You need to get a specific ticket when traveling by metro to the airport or you will end up facing a fine of €36 which unfortunately we had to pay each. They won't let you through the entrance unless you pay the fine. Lady was extremely rude at us.
Then upon reaching the security, staff were shouting at us and again, extremely rude. I have never experienced anything like this kind of treatment in all my travels. I feel like I'm being racially profiled as I'm half Asian, half Irish.
This horrible experience left a sour taste after a wonderful trip to Greece.

Hi, We will have a 2-4 hour layover (confirming flight) in Athens on Sunday, September 1, 2019 arriving at 21:00. Would like to know if it will be feasible to drive by the Acropolis? Thank you!

Hi There. It took us about an hour from the airport to Plaka but it was peak time. About 45 minutes to get back in non peak traffic. The Acropolis gets very crowded as well. If your layover is two hours I wouldn’t try. Even four hours might be a stretch depending upon the crowds and time of day. Hope that helps

It's quite difficult since pretty much Geek people speaks Greek and many are in the process of learning English since the country is becoming more tourist than before.
Some people speak Spanish, but I didn't listen to anyone speaking Portuguese during my stay.
Anyway since you asked your question in a transfer "page" you can just book the transfer from point A to point B. I can tell you from my experience and it was great, don't need to speak to the driver just make sure to pay online and let them know your final destination when you're paying.
