Fabulous trip with Lucy who was so enthusiastic about her island. It was a great tour with just seven people on a small bus and we saw all the sites on the east part of the island. Lucy has so much knowledge of the locations, history and environment which added to the experience. The levada walk was short but well worth the 2k walk - we had Chaffinches eating seeds from our hand at the viewpoint at the end of the walk. Lucy took us to places that the bigger tour coaches couldn’t go - loads of short stops to see so many wonderful locations. Great value with a super knowledgeable host. Thanks Lucy!!

Ein riesiger Albtraum. Ich wurde durch einen anderen englischen Touristen geschlagen, weil ich ihm zu laut telefoniert hatte.
Der guide (lucy) half mir nicht und ließ mich in den Bergen zurück mit den Worten: fahr mit dem Bus.
Geld wollten sie mir zuerst auch nicht geben.
Anzeige ist raus!
Keine Frau sollte geschlagen werden!

Unfortunately, this was the worst customer experience we've ever had. She was so disruptive, yelling and laughing so loudly on the phone that no one could hear the guide, that the other passengers on the bus began to protest. She disregarded everyone's requests to cease her disruptive behavior, even the guide. She then became so offensive and aggresive towards everyone on the bus that it became impossible to continue the tour.
Therefore, at the next stop, Lucy urged her to quit the tour and return independently by using a public bus or a taxi. She became so aggressive with Lucy that she was forced to lock herself in the bus while the lunatic screamed and pounded on the windows. We presume that this person was under the influence of drugs since we do not feel she was in her right mind. Lucy is a superb guide who cares deeply for her guests; one must read the other reviews to realize this. Lucy never witnessed anyone physically abuse this client, but if it had occurred, she would not have been surprised.
This client's money was refunded, and we spoke with Viator about the issue and requested them not to allow this sort of review to appear on our site. Sadly, this was disregarded.

Tour molto ben organizzato con Geige guida fantastica. Ha fornito molte informazioni e consigli e ci ha fatto ammirare splendidi punti panoramici. Il giorno precedente al tour ci hanno telefonato per organizzare il prelievo che è stato comodo e puntuale. Eravamo un gruppo di 5 persone di nazionalità diverse e la guida- autista traducendo in varie lingua parlando anche un poco di italiano. Il pranzo è stato buono ed i tempi di visita sono stati perfetti

Our guide was Lucy, and from beginning to end she was brilliant. She was fun, attentive, seemed to genuinely enjoy her job and showing people around her island. Her enthusiasm really shone through and it was wonderful to see. She took us on a brilliant tour of the east of the island. The weather wasn't always kind to us, which of course is nothing to do with the tour company, but it didn't matter too much - Lucy adjusted plans where possible to give us the best experience. We didn't get any views at Pico de Arreiro (not sure if I've spelt that right!), which was a shame - but it's a good excuse to go back one day. Overall, I'd highly recommend this tour company and Lucy in particular. A lovely, knowledgeable lady who gave us a great day out.

Wir hatten eine Levada Tour gebucht. Es war schon auffällig, dass man im Zentrum von Funchal die Gäste nicht im Hotel abholt. Am Treffpunkt waren wir die einzigen, dann erfolgte ein Anruf, dass angeblich der Führer krank sei. Die Zusammenhänge sind offensichtlich!

We were booked to go today and having received the confirmation email stating today’s date 15/4/22 and my boyfriend having called them to clarify the pick up address we were not collected and when we rang to see if everything was ok, we were informed that they had booked us for the 15th of May, our confirmation email states otherwise. We have now been told there is nothing they can do for us. Very disappointed

Hi Rebecca, it's always very disappointing when something like this happens. But I cannot find any tour booked by Tripadvisor (Viator) for the 15th of April for the East Tour. Could you please give us the name the booking was made under as well as the reservation number. I will then be able to determine what happened.

We really enjoyed our tour of the East and found Lucy to be an excellent guide. Her English was excellent and she was easy to understand. What added to our enjoyment of the day was the punctual pick up from our hotel. Took the stress away of finding a meeting point by taxi.
The highlight of the day for us, was our "Pico do Arieiro" visit, which on a sunny, clear day was stunning. My tip would be if you have flexibility when booking this Eastern tour, check what the weather conditions are forecast to be.
Lunch was very good and very reasonably priced. As regards Covid, we wore a mask when inside the van and took the view that all of our fellow travellers would have recently been through Madeira's, thorough "Covid Visitor checks".
We enjoyed this trip and took the tour around the western part of Madeira with Tony the following day. Again equally enjoyable.
Finally an aside. On these trips we met fellow tourists from the Azores. They told us there are daily flights between there and Madeira. Next time we visit we will break our stay in Madeira with a few nights in the Azores. Our own 2 centre holiday.

We are so glad that we chose this company to show us the highlights of Madeira. We didn't choose Madeira as our original holiday destination so we didn't know what to expect. Due to Covid and cancelled holidays we came for a week to get away from the UK and wanted to fill our week with exploring the island. We chose 3 tours, Madeira East, Madeira West and Nuns Valley. Our guide for all 3 tours was Tony. He made the tours. He was knowledgable, he was funny, he was kind and patient, he drove very well (only the 2nd best Driver on the island according to him), he was never in any hurry to finish and his flora and fauna knowledge astounded us no end. We are so glad we were given this guide for 3 days of our week, we can honestly say that this made our holiday. We thank the company and Tony for his neverending stories of how the island came to be.

Adorei visitar a Ponta de São Loureço, as casinhas típicas em Santana e a casa do RUM.
O guia foi excepcional, sempre muito cuidadoso com a higienização das pessoas e atento às nossas necessidades.

I did both tours offered by Madeira Seekers and they have been the best day-tours ever! Perfect organisation and lovely tour guides! Toni and his wife Lucy are amazing! They shared so much knowledge with us and showed us all highlights!

Well some part is difficult specially when u coming up n sometimes due to rain path might be wet to make it difficult but if u got proper gears it won't be a problem.

we are aboard HAL ship,Prinsendam, (10/24/18 (8am),overnite,leaving 10 25/18)@ 5pm). Is it possible to do "Madeira East Is. tour w/ Levada walk & lunch" one day & Madeira "Best of West" tour the other day?? preferably East 0n the 24th & West on the 25th???
