What a fabulous way to spend a morning! This was our first levada walk and we weren’t disappointed. Our guide Alvaro was professional, knowledgable, safety conscious, highly experienced and very, very entertaining! The pace was brisk but comfortable with stops to point out places, plants, people and things of interest. The walk was from A to B so we didn’t have to retrace our steps, and the minibus took us to a great cafe after the walk before heading home. I would highly recommend this company.

Mooie wandeling, goed te doen. Gids vertelde heel veel en was erg vriendelijk en grappig. Uitstekend georganiseerd. Boeking 1 dag van tevoren via whatsapp werkte prima!

It was an easy walk, following a part of the Levada do Norte, with beautiful views and nice eucalyptus smells. Our lovely guide Yulya was very knowledgeable of the plants and flowers and our driver Mr. Alvaro entertained us with his jokes. We enjoyed the walk very much and at the walk ended with a coffee in Campanario. We highly recommend this walk for people that are afraid of heights or cannot walk a far end.

Unsere Tour entlang der Levadas war dank ALVARO nicht nur sehr unterhaltsam, sondern auch sehr informativ. Wir haben viel über die Flora und Fauna und die Menschen der Insel erfahren. Alvaro kennt sich bestens aus und man merkt ihm die Liebe zur Natur an. Er hat nicht nur erklärt, sondern uns auch die Natur riechen und fühlen lassen.
Die Wanderstrecke ist auch für Ungeübte gut zu bewältigen und Alvaro weist auf alle Gefahrenstellen hin.
Diese Wanderung sollte man als Besucher Madeiras unbedingt gemacht haben.

A beautiful Saturday morning hike which was not over taxing. Alvaro guided us all so well ensuring, throughout, we aware of rocky ground underfoot to maintain safety. Had lots of interesting details pointed out through out the hike which would have gone unnoticed if not explained by Alvaro. Beautiful views of sea & land . Also very pleasant journey to & from hike . The cafe was a lovely way to finish hike with a well deserved coffee & tart.. Delicious . Thank you.

Very enjoyable tour with Avaro as our guide. A nice simple starter levada tour across a beautiful valley. A great hill hike without having to go up and down hills! Our guide was very amusing and gave us lots of information about the area and fauna. He was very cautious about how we should walk along the levada even though it was not difficult terrain even for those of us with knee and other walking issues. A perfect 5km walk in part shade and part sunshine. The only downside was the stop at the end at a cafe when I would rather have gone straight back to the hotel. Otherwise definitely worth doing this tour.

This was our fourth visit to Madeira. Claudio was the best guide/company we could ever ask for. He adapted to our needs and answered all our questions about history, levadas and all the different plants and food found in Madeira. He also gave us great tips for restaurants in Funchal and elsewhere. It was a great way to start the New Year. We will hopefully come back soon and walk many more levadas with a Free spirit guide!
