Our guide, Vince, (I hope that’s his name!🤦♀️) was very knowledgeable & answered our many questions. We loved learning a part of history not often talked about.
He was in tune to the limitations of our group, made adjustments smoothly & always found a shady spot!

Our tour guide was Vince. He was incredibly knowledgeable and found shaded areas to keep the group comfortable while touring the landmarks. Highly recommend the experience! Guaranteed to learn about historical facts and figures that are simply not taught.

The history told was amazing stories not in history books. I learned so much. To hear the stories and see the homes and school was surreal. Totally worth the time to go and take this tour.

Loved this very necessary, very unique tour in historic Williamsburg. We did as a family and all learned a ton. Not only new black history facts, but Williamsburg’s role.
Our tour guide, Vince, was phenomenal. Very engaging and informative. There was a storyline as he took us to the various stops, really giving us an idea to what life was like for free and enslaved blacks during a pivotal time of American history. Highly, highly recommend.

An INCREDIBLE tour. Reliable information on the history that is not taught of colonial Williamsburg. Our tour guide was not only knowledgeable,but a natural teller of history. His cadence, cultural sensitivity and correctness of terminology was as natural to him as his name. A trustworthy guide and definitely a must tour!

Vince was very well informed and insightful about everything he was talking about to the group. I would highly recommend go to his tour to anyone that is interested!!

This is an interesting walking tour complete with the 1st African-American Baptist Church and school. Williamsburg is showing such care in preservation of African- America history. Loved it!

Vince was a great guide. He provided lots of historical information that the schools systems fail to even mention. The walk was not strenuous but mild.

This tour provided detailed information on the Black experience as slaves during this era and the tour should be included with the standard Colonial tour. Our tour guide was amazing and passionate about the history lesson he was providing and we really enjoyed the tour.

Some of the information provided, I'd never heard before and I've studied black history. Our guide, Vince, did an excellent job! I think more people would participate if it weren't so expensive. I don't know if it was the coolest part of the day in Williamsburg (I don't think so), but though Vince tried to keep us in the shade, it was quite warm. One o'clock may not be the best time. All that being said, I have recommended it to my family.
