Safe and easy travel to and from the island.

What a great ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard. Bring a jacket as it can get chilly on sunny days in the morning. We really enjoy the ride there and back. I highly recommend this tour. Worth visiting the island.

It was a longer day than we expected!

We didn't realize until we got on the bus that morning this trip was the entire day! 12 hours! It was comfortable and the tour guide was knowledgeable. Martha's Vineyard was a big anticlimactic though. The bus drive around the island didn't allow for much time to get out and take pictures of the things we most wanted to see. Still, a fun day--even if it was longer than we had planned.

Martha’s Vineyards Day Trip
Great tour and the Elaine was amazing!! She sang us the Cape Cod song - she has a beautiful voice!!

The Alpaca farm was so great nothing cuter then a baby alpaca.

We need to go back when everything is open - we just missed the season on the island.

Extremely Enjoyable

Wow! What a lovely full day we had on this tour. Laurant was our driver from Boston to the ferry. He provided non-stop narration throughout the ride with interesting information. Once we got to Martha's Vineyard, we were greeted by Anthony who led us through the island. Anthony was so engaging and fun and we could not have had a better experience. Highly recommended! Well worth the price.

A great day out.

It was a great day out. We were lucky with the weather. It was sunny all day. Shame about the 6.15 start but we stopped for a coffee and a look at a lighthouse on the way. Once on the island I caught the number 13 bus to the next town which was so pretty and then returned to Oak Bluffs to look at the old cottages. Good driving from Elaine.

We didn't enjoy the island bus tour.
If you only have a day to tour the Martha’s Vineyard, do not get the bus tour.

The bus tour was too long and ended until 1:30PM (part of the tour was boring). After the bus tour, we were starving. So we grabbed some lunch afterwards. We didn't get a chance to explore the village without being rushed (as the ferry started onboarding at 3:30PM).

Save your time to tour around the Oak Bluffs village.

Beautiful island, worth the drive

A very early start at 6:15 but it was an easy trip from Boston to the ferry terminal. We took the round the island bus trip too and it was very informative if a bit rushed. The bus ride back to Boston was slow with rush hour traffic though our driver did get around it a bit. Enjoyable experience.

Review of Day Trip to Martha’s Vineyard

Our tour guide was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Directions for the pick up location was very clear and he arrived promptly with water and snacks for everyone. He also had the tickets we’d need for the ferry and had a discount for a restaurant on the island as well as a brochure to give us an idea of some stuff to check out while over there.
The weather on the day we went wasn’t very nice and we opted into not taking the island tour and exploring ourselves. On a day when the weather is nice I think that’s still a feasible option, but with bad weather I’d definitely recommend the tour! The island is much bigger than we imagined and we definitely missed a lot of opportunities by not taking the tour.
Ferry ride was fine as well with plenty of seating and there was also a small cafeteria area.
I definitely recommend seeing the lighthouses and the gingerbread houses. We also stopped and ate at ArtCliff cafe and it was delicious!
