This was a wonderful experience with my wife! Shout out to our wonderful guide Keone, he was absolutely friendly, fun, and made the experience one to remember ! Seeing all the military ships and sea life was captivating! 100/10 would recommend!

We drove 80 miles for this experience only to show up and be told by the owner/operators all boats were broken and they were cancelling everything the rest of the day with no notice. I requested a refund and was told I needed to go through TripAdvisor as opposed to the actual business for my money back. Big hassle and waste of our time and fuel.

The tour was awesome! This was our first time in such boats and driving, our instructor Melissa was very knowledgeable and friendly which made the experience great altogether.

Meeting place instructions are clear and easy to find. Subsidised parking with validation ticket.
Our guide, Paul, was warm and welcoming, engaging with all parties in our group.
Life jackets were issued and Paul took us through operation of the boat and protocols to follow when leaving the harbour. All instructions were clear and easy to understand, even for complete novices.
After a slow controlled drive out of the harbour, it was pedal to metal and great fun. Paul stopped us at various spots around the harbour, seals sunbathing, aircraft carrier etc. He has a walkie talkie linked up to the speakers on the boat.
Without doubt, the best thing we did in San Diego. It would have easily been 5+ stars but my boat cut out 3 times after launching off the wake from other craft in the bay. A polish couple on our trip had some boat problems too, (kelp in the prop) which cut down our speed time by about 15 minutes.
If you get the chance, jump on it. It’s a great couple of hours.

Our guide, Cosmo, was amazing! He was very professional and knowledgeable about the whole experience, and he made it fun for us as both skilled and beginner boaters! 10/10 the best experience; my fiancé and I had so much fun!

My Fiancé and I had a blast !! Definitely a awesome experience for the both of us!! Our guide Paul gave us the best instruction , shared a lot of history of the san diego’s harbor and made sure we were all entertained!! Thank you !! We will definitely be back soon !!

The SD Speed Boat Adventure is a blast. This was our second time and the boats were upgraded. Our guide, Paul, was friendly and explained everything before we left the marina. The sun did not shine for us, but it wasn't cold. The boats hit the waves very hard and I switched to the middle seat with 2 handles.
The sea lions were diving and swimming around us. We enjoyed seeing the skyline and Navy ships. There was a military dolphin training in session, which was very cool to see.

Doable. We had the most powerful boat and fit 3. So, we'd wait for the others wake to die down and bit before going full speed ahead. Now, we went over the summer. But, we were perfectly fine. The boats are quite capable.

We are two adults and 3 kids (ages 11, 9 & 7). Can we fit in one boat?

No, probably not. I took my son who was 13 and my daugther who was 16, and myself. But, I booked the largest boat they had and we were tight. But, if kids and parents are small people and the boat company lets you....maybe? But, I'd say probably not. You could rent the two small boats and your wife drive one and you the other. Slit the kids based on ability and size from there maybe?
