This was a truly unique experience, unlike any other museum I've been to. Gary, the museum curator, is there during the tour to answer questions and share his stories. There is something different about a firsthand eyewitness account and being able to touch actual artifacts from Ground Zero. He also has some amazing photographs and does a fantastic job of honoring all who were affected. This will give you a different perspective of this tragic day. It is self-guided so you can spend as little or as much time as you want- did not feel touristy at all and was an amazing tribute to this tragic day. Highly recommend.

El museo/taller es realmente exitoso en lo que quiere lograr,que entiendas todo lo que implicó el 911. Este recopila imágenes o artefactos con los que se te permite interactuar,además de poder escuchar un relato que cuenta la experiencia con el objeto. Tuve la suerte de que el día que fui estaba Gary ( el fotógrafo y el de la idea del museo) fue muy amable con nosotros y fue aún más significativo escucharlo. 100% recomendable, se considera museo breve pero realmente puedes estar bastante tiempo explorandolo.

This museum was top of our to-do list when planning our New York trip. It did not disappoint. We had visited the 9/11 museum in the morning, then came to this workshop in the afternoon.
The workshop focuses on the recovery after the attacks.
Gary was our guide. His knowledge and photographs brought the recovery to life. The artefacts are fascinating, and some can be held.
Highly recommend to anyone who wants to know more about what happened at the site of the World Trade Center after the attacks.

Une expérience à vivre!
Ce petit musée vaut le détour pour plusieurs raisons.
Vous êtes d'abord accueilli par le photographe lui-même! Une personne très sympathique qui aime partager avec les visiteurs et connaître notre opinion sur l'exposition.
Avec des écouteurs et un audio-guide, on peut regarder les nombreuses photos et objets retrouvés. Les commentaires permettent de comprendre l'histoire de la photo/objet et revivre en quelque sorte ce que ces sauveteurs et le photographe ont vécus. Très touchant et tragique.
Cette exposition se concentre uniquement sur les 7 mois qui ont suivis les attentats donc, tout l'envers du décor dont les médias n'ont pas parlés. Nous avons accès au quotidien des sauveteurs qui ont passés des mois à chercher leurs confrères, fils, amis, etc.
On apprend que plusieurs associations et groupes de solidarité sont nés durant cette période tragique.
Je pourrais continuer, mais je vous recommande tout simplement de voir ces oeuvres photographiques !

There was an amazing amount to see in one room. The collection is meticulously documented and Gary's commentary deeply personal and informative. I would highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in the events of 9/11 and the aftermath. A beautiful tribute to the people lost on that day.

Excellent and though provoking museum. Gave the opportunity to see the events that occurred after 9/11 through pictures and artefacts that Gary has put together. Well worth the visit in addition to the main 9/11 museum.

Unexpectedly powerful. This little space is a big part of my heart now. You hear first hand accounts from
Gary Marlon Suson, the official photographer of Ground Zero. His candid photos of the firefighters & rescue crews in the aftermath of 9/11 are on display with artifacts from the site. The Museum does not show graphic footage of the airplanes from that heartbreaking morning but are instead a gentle segue to learn more about the inner workings at Ground Zero that took place after the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil & the heroic efforts of the men & women on the recovery site. The recover lasted 9-months with the goal of locating the missing amidst a 100-foot-deep cavern of dirt, steel & twisted metal. Gary was there with his camera the whole time.

Having researched whether the 9/11 museum was suitable for our kids aged 7 & 10, and establishing it may not be, we decided to book a tour here. It was a good choice. Gary the official FDNY photographer guided us around and shared his memories, very happy to answer questions from the kids. We would highly recommend.

The 9/11 workshop is an intensely personal view of the tragedy and the months/years of restoration that followed. The photos are accompanied by emotional and skillfully assembled audios. I felt totally immersed in the stories of the firefighters who risked their lives to recover victims; felt like I was experiencing firsthand the scenes of destruction.
I went with my thirteen-year-old brother who isn't normally a fan of museums, but he did the entire tour and proceeded to tell our parents about it. Gary provides a really amazing, unique experience. I can't recommend it enough!!

We visited this as a group of 3 from Scotland on Friday 20th Jan 2023, as two of us are serving firefighters we found that the collection and the amount of information that we learned was outstanding and a very moving experience, we met Gary and where proud of his dedication to this cause and all voluntary.
