A city tour that exceeded all of our expectations

Sheldon’s tour of NYC was perfect for my mom and I. In 6 hours we saw all of the sites on our list and many more that we did not expect.

He never rushed us and made adjustments along the way for traffic that maximized what we were able to see in one day.

Sheldon was open and engaging, accommodating, and sprinkled in humor, which made this a very enjoyable and fun-filled day in NYC. We especially enjoyed the insights he shared that you would not find in a standard guidebook.

Our group elected for a 4-hour private tour with Sheldon this week.

First off, I want to thank the past reviewers for giving me an idea on what to expect. I was tasked to arrange a city tour for some VIP customers and my executives, so by reading the reviews, it eased any concerns that I may have anticipated.

Sheldon is a New York City expert with a wealth of knowledge, professionalism and humor. From day 1, when I reserved my spot on this tour, Sheldon communicated with me effectively and timely. Whether it was email or text, Sheldon was on top of it. Having this constant communication also alleviated stress.

Lastly, Sheldon is nimble and customer focused. Initially, I had requested Sheldon to do a Manhattan tour a couple weeks ago, but due to bad weather and UN Week in Manhattan a day prior to our tour, our team had a change of heart. I immediately reached out to Sheldon to request a tour in Brooklyn. I was truly skeptical at first as I didn't give Sheldon ample notice, but he pulled through like a champ. Our tour was a major success, and all of our guests were truly delighted with Sheldon's story-telling skills.

Thank you, Sheldon! You are truly a national treasure!

MEMORABLE DAY

We recently were faced with disembarking a Cruise Ship at 8 AM with a flight leaving NYC at 3 PM.  We have previously spent very little time in NYC and had never seen many of the most obvious NYC sights.  Exploring Private Tour Options we discovered a large number of companies offering black car tours with only a driver to show the sights, with a couple of photo stops, of NYC. 
We also found Best New York Tours .  The Company offered a similar experience with the distinction that a Private Guide was in the car along with the driver - offering the opportunity to exit the vehicle frequently and more personally view and experience some of the most famous sights of NYC.  The Price - significantly higher than the driver only options.  We entered into a dialogue with the Owner, Sheldon Lapidus,.  Not once did we receive a cut and paste email from Sheldon.  We received a number of attention getting communications that led us to believe that we would receive a "Memorable Experience" rather than a just a 4 hour ride around.   After 36 days on the Ship we decided this was not the time to cheap out.
We definitely made the right decision.  Indeed we had a Memorable 4 hours seeing more sights and experiencing them close up along with the descriptive story telling from Sheldon that provided so much more than a drive around.  Some of the areas we actually exited the vehicle and explored personally included: Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Grand Central Terminal, Wall Street, St. Patrick's Cathedral, 9/11 Ground Zero.  We not only experienced the sights but we heard the stories that included the hIstory and provided the perspective. Our Driver G" also deserves kudos for always being in the right place at the right time to pick us up after our exploration.
Sheldon provided a truly memorable experience.  Was it more expensive - yes.  Was it a memorable experience - ABSOLUTELY..  Treat yourself to not only the sights - but also the stories that make it all come alive.  AND, look up how many skyscrapers there are in NYC before you take the tour - just to see the look on his face when he asks you the question!  Don't cheap out.  It's worth every Dollar for the Memory Bank.  And my wife says he gives great hugs .  
Thanks Sheldon.  Maybe we'll see you in Our City one of these days.

We would highly recommend this tour. Ryan was an amazing guide with so much knowledge. We felt like we really covered so much of New York in just one day and learnt so much about the city. Booking was easy and communication was great. Excellent company.

First Time to NY city

My wife and I decided to book a private six hour tour since we had never been to NY before. It turned out to be a great decision! Alex, our driver and Marshall our tour guide couldn’t not have been better. Marshall took us around Manhattan and part of Brooklyn all the while explaining much of the history of the many buildings and neighborhoods. We visited St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Grand Central Station and the 9/11 memorial which is very impressive. We would both highly recommend this type of tour. Very good job guys and a very professional organization. Many thanks,

We had such an amazing time during our private tour. Berenice our tour guide was so knowledgeable, fun and friendly. Alex our driver was also amazing. Berenice was very helpful after we got our flight cancellations she went above and beyond in providing fun things to do in NYC. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend a private tour with them.

Have you ever said "what would someone in the industry use?"
I have taken dozens of tours and worked as a tour guide for 7 years.
Sheldon from Best New York Tours provided the most comfortable, professional, thoughtful, entertaining and most of all enriching tour my family and myself have ever experienced.
He's from New York. You are getting the genuine article. And he gives color, life and awareness to every location. His coverage and presentation of the World Trade Center Memorial is one of the most moving experiences I've ever had.
New York is already beautiful but with Sheldon that beauty becomes part of you and you get to take it home with you.

Sheldon was absolutely amazing and full of NYC history and knowledge. My husband had never been to Manhattan and I wanted him to see all the highlights the city has to offer. Sheldon blew us away by not only showing us the city but giving us the history of the sites. We ended up spending the rest of the week going to the places Sheldon showed us and we felt we had a better experience because we knew the stories of the places. Highly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed. Sheldon was an absolutely amazing guide and we will definitely be back to tour other areas with him!

Amazing tour with the best tour guide ever!

Wow! This was worth every penny! Our driver Gregory and our tour guide, Bernice were so great. They really created a very fun and individualized tour of NYC and Brooklyn that catered to our interests and especially my granddaughter’s requests. We visited several spots that were kid friendly, like the Sloo Moo institute to make slime, American Girl store and had gelato at the Chelsea market. My granddaughter got to eat her first New York Pizza at Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn. We got a view of the Statue of Liberty and visited a Temple that has the largest Buddha we’ve ever seen. Berniece has such a friendly and funny personality. She also has a wealth of knowledge of everything in the City! As we drive she pointed things out and gave us fun facts and interesting info. She also went above and beyond, checking in several times in the following days when she found out we had our flight cancelled and were stranded without luggage. She forwarded information on more things to do that we would enjoy. She also made sure we found a hotel and that we were ok. Offering to help us in any way. This tour will be one of the highlights of our vacation for sure. I am so happy I booked this! We would do it again for sure!
