We had the pleasure of having Karen as our guide on this fantastic walking tour. We booked the tour to find out more about the Hamilton/ Burr dynamic as we are Hamilton musical fans but we got so much more than we expected. Karen has an encyclopaedic knowledge on the time and historic locations within NY and we learned loads. We were lucky with the weather and the time totally flew by on the tour. We will definitely do another tour with Karen when we are next in NY. We also bought Karen’s book on Theodosia Burr which I’ve just finished- really enjoyed the book too. Thank you Karen for the great tour.

I have studied the colonial era for decades, but always enjoy interacting with scholars of every kind with their ideas, learning, and passion for the period.
Mrs Q (Karen) gave me perspectives, details, and background that enhanced what I knew and enabled my research to advance. Walking in the paths of our Founders (emotionally and physically) is transformative.
In addition, her enthusiasm for the period, and her interest in the thoughts of her walking companions, is inspiring.
I heartily and happily endorse the experience of Patriot Tours NYC. The Video (Zoom/YouTube) she produces delights as well.

My daughter and I felt extremely fortunate to stumble upon this walking tour with Karen Q when looking for things to do in NYC this weekend. Our tour was small and our tour guide/owner/historian Karen was absolutely fantastic! She is so deeply knowledgeable about this subject and describes early NYC so vividly that you can picture the way it was back then. Walking the historic streets of New York was fun, too. You won’t be sorry to book this tour with Karen Q. I am planning to do another one the next time I go back to visit my daughter. Highly recommended!

if you're even just the slightest bit interested in early american history this tour is great. Its a walking tour of downtown NYC and its amazing how many little things still remain in the city from that time that go unnoticed. The tour guide Karen is very informative and easy to bounce questions off of. You can tell she's very passionate about this subject and i enjoyed all she had to talk about. I will definitely do another one the next time i have a free day in the city.

We were looking forward to this tour due to our keen interest in the life of Alexander Hamilton. However, we were disappointed that our tour guide seemed to gloss over details about Hamilton's life in this long-winded tour. She placed a heavy emphasis on Burr over Hamilton and was very keen to promote her forthcoming book about Theodosia Burr, which seemed out of place on this tour. She also neglected to mention an exhibition by the New York Historical Society about Hamilton that was on display in Federal Hall while we were in the establishment. Fortunately, we noticed this and came back a few days later and were very impressed with what we learnt.

The tour is designed to present Hamilton and Burr in an equal light. It favors Hamilton in the number of tour stops including: Kings College, his son Philip's duel, The Room Where it Happened and the federal debt, Hercules Mulligan, Hamilton's published works, the Bank of New York and the Constitution. There is a stop on the tour about Theodosia Burr meant as an inspiration to girls and women where the book is mentioned. It is not displayed or offered for sale nor is anyone asked to buy it. There is not enough time to see everything along the tour route, but customers are encouraged to go back along the path to see what else is available, as you did.

Karen is a great guide, and really brought the history to life, making us feel like we were walking through early New York City. She brings to the tour her deep knowledge, gained through a lot of primary source research, providing a lot of depth and context to the stories and characters of the tour. We did the Hamilton / Burr tour, and I hope to do another on my next visit to NY. Well worth it, very enjoyable. Thanks!

The Hamilton and Burr Walking Tour was amazing. Karen's enthusiasm is infectious and her extensive knowledge is awe inspiring. Karen described these two men in such a way that they came to life for me. I learned about the virtues and shortcomings of these two extraordinary men while traveling though the heart of Lower Manhattan.

Really enjoyed the St. Paul's Chapel , the Federal Hall, Trinity Church Cemetery and Mausoleum. Karen was very friendly and told wonderful stories.

Enjoyable and informative "Burr/Hamilton" walking tour of Lower Manhattan with Karen. Wanted to do a private tour but only small group tour was available, which turned out just fine, fewer than a dozen people in the group. Karen is passionate about NYC history, and knows a ton, much of it from her own primary research. Recommended!
