Such a great historical tour of the original St. Patrick's Cathedral of NYC. The tour guide my group had, Marlene, was such a knowledgeable, kind, passionate guide. You could tell she loves what she does. She was so patient with questions. She gave very knowledgeable answers. The 1.5 hrs flew by. If you are interested in the history of NYC during the time of gangs of NY this is a neat tour. The other plus is that it is right around the corner from Little Italy.

We had an amazing tour with Marlene and a beautiful experience by candlelight in the catacombs. Marlene was so well versed and proud of her NY heritage that made it such a pleasure to spend our Fri night on this tour.

We had a nice introduction by Tommy, the guide, and then he took us out to the graveyard, which normally is not open to the public, and told us about the history of the church and how the neighborhood has changed so much around it, etc. It was very interesting to hear about the church and how the congregation make-up has changed over the years and the famous people involved with this location. The catacombs were just like three "hallways", but it was lit by candlelight and they had all these video monitors to tell you about the people in the tombs, so it was very interesting to read about these people. The sanctuary is nice, but nothing special.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and seemed very enthusiastic to share his knowledge. Catacombs were very cool, a fun little couple hour tour if you are looking for something to do in the city

This was an interesting experience, not what I was expecting. We started the tour in the Cathedral's cemetery. Unfortunately very little/practically nothing is known about the people who are buried there. We spent more time listening to stories about the wall and the armeed group of guys that guarded the church during the anti-catholic period in NY. A little time was spent on the front of the cathedral and the men who got it built. When we went inside, there was practically no information provided; we were told to wander around on our own. It is a beautiful sanctuary. Then were were led to the basement to the actual catacombs. Again, not much was known about most of the people interred, It was interesting. Again, we were left to wander around on our own for about 15 minutes. My wife and I were, apparently, slow. We we headed back to the catacomb door it was closed (not locked) and the tour was over. We have no idea what final remarks might have been made. I've visited catacombs in other major cities. This paled in comparison. We didn't really learn much about the actual catacombs which was our primary interest when we booked the tour. I cannot recommend this tour.

Our guide, Ron, was a great guide and knows all of the history of the area. It was interesting but could have been done in less than 30 minutes. Most of the history was about the Catholic church and Irish immigrants. The catacomb part was probably 15 minutes and it’s really not that exciting. You see the headstone of some person buried in a tomb and they give you a small battery operated tealight.

Interesting historical church and semitary tour that gives an insight into the early days of Catholicism in New York City.
The Catacombs thing is a bit overdramatic, go for the history and stories.

We really enjoyed our tour of the old St Patrick’s church and the tour of the graveyard and catacombs beneath. Our guide was excellent! He answered all of our questions and it was obvious he loved the church
