Our guide DJ took us all round the french quarter. He was funny, interactive, very well informed and made you really take in the monumental history that you were walking through.
The tour featured horrible true crime like historical events and how people had interacted with the sites of these event ever since. The truth is stranger and more ghastly than fiction. DJ pointed out a lot of small details around the city that would be easy to miss if you didn't know they were there.
This was my first time in New Orleans and it was a great way to meet the French Quarter and get a sense of the city.
Cannot recommend this tour enough if you like pub crawls and ghost stories. If you don't, the tour company has so many more options there is something for everyone.

DJ did a wonderful job on this tour. He was very entertaining and unique. Great Tour!! Had drinks at a couple bars and learned about some cool ghost stories.

If you want your standard point A to point B tourist experience then DJ is probably not your flavor. He’s brash, opinionated, borderline rude. There’s also minimal ghost stories to be told in this haunted tour, mostly historical with a sprinkling of spooky murder tales thrown in. The first drink is free, the rest you have to pay for, but they were reasonably priced drinks and well made.
However,
If you can get past all that there’s real meat to everything he says. The dude clearly knows his business, and if he comes across as arrogant, wait a bit and you’ll realize that it’s probably because he has a right to be.
These are the guys you want to listen to, because they will lead you beyond the standard cookie cutter experience and you have leads on a New Orleans experience that you weren’t even aware existed.
Kudos!
However,

Fun tour through the French Quarter with interesting history/haunted tales of the area. DJ was great!--very informative and entertaining. Overall, it was a great tour with great drink stops along the way--exactly what we were looking for.

There was good information, however, our tour guide could have bonded the group, rather than call out members of the group and make it awkward.
He’s been a guide for 9 years and has seemed to have lost the fun parts about being on a tour, and instead got snappy and rude.

Good fun as long as you don’t take New Orleans history too seriously! We had a blast with our tour guide/entertainer D.J. was absolutely awesome! He mixed personal stories with modern day true crime in a way that rivaled Dateline on a good night! The streets are hard to navigate if you’re in a wheelchair. All of the bars we visited ARE ADA accessible FYI!

John was great and very entertaining, a fun way to learn the history of the city. And the bars we visited we friendly and pleasant, a fabulous introduction to new orleans. A couple of hours well spent and highly recommended

It says that you must be 21 to do the tour. I'm going to visit NOLA with my 20 year-old daughter next week. Do they check ID at the start of the tour? Could my daughter go on the tour and just not have any cocktails? I hate to pay for it only to find out that she cannot go. Thanks in advance!

I'm going to New Orleans in May and thinking of doing this pub crawl tour. Can anyone tell me how many pubs this tour stops at and which ones ? Also, the misses isn't too fond of scary stuff... I on the other hand love this stuff. Is this tour really scary ? I don't want to be in the doghouse with the wife. LOL

This tour stops at four bars. It starts at Tujagues, then you go to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar, then Molly’s on the Market, and you end at the Old Absinthe House. You get a free drink at Tujagues, and The guides will recommend signature cocktails at the other bars but you’re footing the bill so get whatever you want! The tour itself was not scary other than some spooky stories shared about Madame Lalaurie when you visit by her mansion. No one jumps out at you or anything, so it’s very chill. It it a great way to learn about the city while also drinking lol
