The Whitney Plantation describes in detail and preserves the history of 1770s - 1800s slavery at a Plantation in Louisiana. For that reason, it is my favorite of all of the New Orleans Plantation tours.
I toured the Plantation in 2019, when there was a REAL guide. He was very, very good, and the tour was so much better with an in-person guide. He had an impressive knowledge of the history, and he answered all questions that were asked.
The Whitney grounds and buildings are very well-kept.

This was a very powerful tour. The guide gave great information along the way out to the Plantation area. Then the self guided tour of the Whitney Plantation was wonderfully done. Easy to follow and built a true picture of what life was like for the enslaved people at the Plantation. I highly recommend.

It was interesting to learn about the history and Edward the driver was very knowledgeable and great. The audio tour took just about an hour and a half to complete

Very interesting visit
Amelie our guide on the plantation was able to captivate us through the history of the “Laura” family
For the French, be careful to choose your transport and visit time carefully in order to benefit from a French guide, this was not the case for us, fortunately Amelie provided us with a booklet in French, my mother not having a perfect command of the language (I don't). more elsewhere)

Had a great tour with Dionne! Didn't expect to get to know so much about New Orleans recent history along the way, and that was a pleasant surprise.
Plantation tour was a very humbling experience, and would recommend this to anyone so we don't forget.

We toured the Whitney plantation.. Our van did drop offs at two other plantations in the area as well. Good value as the ride out there was over an hour and apparently a cab would cost you $250.
They picked us up at 820am and got us back at 1pm. Van driver told tales on the way there but was quiet on way back.
You get your headset and find your own way around. It would have been better if the weather had been nicer. You cannot go in any buildings. (ok you can step into one or two) but it is an outdoor tour so dress for the weather. You will end with a museum and gift shop tour.
You will see many memorials and MANY slave names and some very sad statues. Its a very sad place so be ready for emotions.

This tour was really awesome, no sugarcoating on slavery. You will get the truth and nothing but the truth on how the slaves was treated on Whitney Plantation. If you want the truth, please visit this plantation. I will recommend N’awlins Luxury Tours for round trip transportation. By the way we had a great tour guide/driver (Dion). She pointed out landmarks along the way, which made that one hour drive feel shorter.
