We did the Exit Glacier hike with Kenai Backcountry Adventures. If there were world championships for best glacier hiking guides, Ashley and Fred would definitely podium! 🥇They were safe, adventurous, knowledgeable, and fun! Although we only brought a group of six friends, Ashley and Fred are welcome to expand our friend group to eight in future adventures. As fun as they were, they kept a good pulse on the group, stopping to rest when we needed, and pushing us to explore as well! We checked out crevasses and moulins from above (and below!), wiggled into ice caves where we were rained on by glacier water, and even learned about edible plants and antiseptic mosses while we hiked! After traipsing around all day on crampons with Ashley and Fred, my calves were sore, my feet were numb, and my cheeks hurt from laughing. Would do it again in a heartbeat. The landscape was jaw dropping, and the guides made it so so memorable. Make sure you go with Kenai Backcountry Adventures. You won’t be disappointed.

Awesome experience getting out onto the ice. Shout-out to Brandon for making sure everyone was safe while taking us to some cool spots on the glacier, as well as the cool pictures. Plus the excellent turkey wraps!

Fred took my wife and I up on Exit Glacier. It was our first time scaling a glacier. He taught us how to walk on the ice and respect its natural beauty. We saw other outfitters carving steps and modifying the glacier to make it easier for their customers. We thought that was disrespectful. Fred helped us explore the glacier with minimal impact. As a previous Boy Scout and Scout Leader, I appreciated the ‘Leave no trace’ attitude. A once in a lifetime experience. We would do it again, but only with Kenai Backcountry. Thank you for an incredible experience

We did a glacier hike with Brandon as our guide and it was incredible. The hike and glacier itself were breathtaking but our guide was so full of enthusiasm and passion that it made the experience even better. We got to explore and play around on the glacier and learned so much about glaciers and Alaska.

Fred was our personal guide for the day and he was excellent! He made sure we went at a good pace so we could enjoy the most time on the glacier. He made the experience so enjoyable with his knowledge and history of the glacier and surrounding area. I would highly recommend this tour but you must be physically fit as it is very tiring especially on the hike down.

We did the Ice Hiking with Brandon as our guide. He was excellent! He thought of safety first, and then allowed us to do some great things!! Loved it and it was very worth while!!

Our tour guides were amazing! Both ashley and miles were very informative of the surrounding wildlife, landscapes and glaciers in general. They practiced safe techniques and were very confidence inspiring.
Kenai Backcountry offered an amazing tour filled with amazing views. As the glacier is seemingly receding, this is a once in a life time adventure. I would highly recommend anyone to take this tour. The hike to exit glacier was moderately difficult, and the hike on the glacier was fairly basic.

Wir hatten einen unglaublich tollen Tag mit Ashley. Beginnend mit einer steilen Wanderung wurden wir schnell mit tollen Ausblicken auf den Gletscher belohnt. Am Gletscher angekommen, zeigte uns Ashley traumhafte Ecken und Winkel des Gletschers, wir konnten uns garnicht satt sehen. Wir können die Tour mit Ashley unbedingt weiter empfehlen. Mit ihrem Know-how und ihrer Erfahrung sowie ihrem sympathischen Art haben wir uns jederzeit sicher gefühlt und ein unvergessliches Erlebnis gehabt.

Such an incredible experience and fun adventure. Great trail, scenic views, and insightful/ helpful guides -Ashley was great with making the trip enjoyable for all members of the group and going above and beyond to ensure we got to see the best views. Highly recommend!

This was a fabulous experience! How many times do you get the opportunity to experience hiking on a glacier? The experience was enhanced due to our amazing guides - Ashley and Fred. They were very safe and enthusiastic about this experience. If you are in good shape this is a must experience!

Hola. Cuales aon los horarios de salida y llegada a Seward? Tenemos otras actividades programadas por la tarde y quiaiera saber si esta excursion es compatible con los horarios.
What type of gear will I have to bring? Gloves, hats, rain gear,etc.?

Something warm for when on the glacier, as it gets quite windy and the coldness of the ice. Yes also hat, although you have to wear a hard had supplied by the company. Definitely gloves and maybe leggings under your trousers.

I am not an experienced hiker. I am 58 years old in good shape. I don't want to hold up the other hikers. What do you think.

My wife is 68 and I'm 70, and we were able to make the climb without any trouble, but we're physically active people. If you're in good shape you should be fine. The guides are excellent and you can take a break anytime you need one. Don't miss this if at all possible.
