The food tour was excellent! It combined history of the area with tasty food. Our guide Olivia was great! She's local to the area and knew all the ins and outs. Highly recommend her and the tour!

We really enjoyed our time on the food tour with Olivia. The food choices were delicious. I like that she included so much history in it . The time went so fast. We hated to see it end. This is our first time in Richmond. It was a good way to experience your city.

Great tour, very efficient, interesting restaurants. We saw a great part of Richmond which we wouldn’t have found otherwise. Olivia was fun and informative.

We had a great time on the Carrytown Food Tour! It was our second tour with Discover Richmond. The food was great and the restaurants were very welcoming. Olivia was the Best guide! She was funny and knows everything about food! Her knowledge of the history of Richmond and the United States was impressive. The people in our group were friendly. Highly Recommend!

We had a blast! Olivia the tour guide is fantastic and she puts a special touch to the overall atmosphere. The organization was on point, time management was outstanding, food was amazing and the little history updates from Olivia were the perfect compliment to the overall experience.

My husband and I did this food tour for my birthday and it did not disappoint! Although we are VA natives we’ve done very little exploration of Richmond. This tour was a great opportunity to get familiar with Carytown and everything it has to offer.
Our tour guide, Olivia, was hilarious and very knowledgeable of the town’s history, which was a nice mixture of content to have. We enjoyed the variety of foods and drinks that we got to try. I won’t spoil all of the stops but our favorite dish was probably the chicken and waffles at New York Deli. The pizza slice at Zorch Pizza was everything you would want in a slice and a close second in comparison. The espresso martini at Can Can Brasserie is definitely worth trying (note drinks at most stops are an additional charge).
The only critique we had was about the stop at Home Sweet Home. It’s not the tour’s fault but both of our sandwiches and soups were lukewarm. If a restaurant is serving comfort food on a cold/windy January day, it would make sense to serve it as hot and fresh as possible to convince people to come back. The flavors were still really good and the decor was “unique” (i.e. don’t come to this place if you get offended by words and drawings by adolescents).
Also one idea that I think could elevate the experience is to offer a drink package add on. I’ve done a few other food tours in various big cities and for an up-charge some offer a drink pairing for every food stop.
I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone! Apparently they do tours for other areas of Richmond as well so I’m keeping them in mind for future visits!

Olivia was wonderful! Great at giving us some history of Cary Town. She has a great sense of humor. She kept the tour interesting and fun. The food was delicious. Looking forward to booking another!

Olivia was a great guide. Informative, funny, always interesting. She took care of everyone and everything and made sure to include all of us during the entire tour.
