We only had one day in Rhode Island, so this tour was the best use of our time. The only disappointment was so few sites in Providence were on the tour. But we very much enjoyed the places we saw. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the state and of each site we visited. This tour was very enriching.

2nd September 2023. An 8hr Rhode island in a day tour was booked and paid for. Advertised as comprising a total of 8 different stops with each stop allowing guests to alight for different periods of time. But not today. Today the bus had been double booked for a wedding. The last 3 stops were simply drive bys and 2 hours straight on the bus in order to get the bus back in time for the wedding. Now I doubt the wedding was rush booked in the last couple of days so I really don't see why someone's else's happy event should impact whatsoever on the advertised itinerary and twenty or so passengers. A big fat 1/10. The driver and guide was called Ted and to his credit he was very knowledgeable, informative and witty. But the tour did not provide the service it had advertised. And that's bad. Very bad. So to anyone else thinking of booking a trip, perhaps you might want to contact the tour operator and make sure the bus isn't needed later in the afternoon for a wedding/barmitzvah/funeral/cat's birthday..as all these will apparently take precedence over your paid for tour.

We apologize for any frustration. Thank you for letting us know. Normally, no other event conflicts with our tour, but yesterday we had an unusual situation with a wedding we had to accommodate. In order to accommodate that situation, and give everyone the full Rhode Island in a Day experience, we started your tour an hour early. We were able to give you the full experience, with the exception that you weren't able to get out at the final stop. On the other hand, your group was given more time in Newport than is usually given. We did our very best given the situation. Ted said you and your wife were a delight to have on board, and we really appreciate you joining us during your journey around New England. We sincerely hope you got a great feel for Rhode Island through the tour!

This trip was the highlight of my stay in Providence. Our guide, Ted, was informative and engaging. His knowledge of Rhode Island's history is incredible, and his enthusiasm for this beautiful state shines through. There were frequent stops for lunch, photo opportunities, and toilet breaks. I can not recommend this tour highly enough.

This is a fantastic, fun, and educational tour. The tour gives you a peek into the many fantastic places that are in this small state, from sandy beaches to farmstands to magical Newport.

It was such an unexpected experience. Ted is very knowledgeable, humorous, and kind. Rhodesia Island is so beautiful. The scene of the beach is out of the world! I was almost late for my train but he was kindly enough to drop me off at the place very close to the train station on our way back.

Good overview of RI with a knowledgeable guide. Fewer stops, with longer stays at the stops that remain, would be an improvement.
I worked out not to participate in group photos, not knowing what they intended to do with them. At the end of the tour, they told the group the photos would be posted.
IT IS OUTRAGEOUS THAT YOU ASSUME YOU HAVE YOUR CUSTOMERS' PERMISSION TO POST THEIR PHOTOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA WITHOUT ADVANCE PERMISSION.
I worked out not to participate in group photos, not knowing what they intended to do with them. At the end of the tour, they told the group the photos would be posted.

Thank you for sharing your concern. We love taking free pictures of our tour groups, so they can have memories from the day, and so future guests can see the fun we have. We find that 99% of our customers are happy to see pictures of their day after the tour. Our tour guides always announce that our pictures will be posted after the tour on Facebook and Instagram. We also state our photography policy clearly on every booking confirmation:
"Please be aware that during your tour the tour guide may take pictures of your tour group which could be used in future marketing materials or shared on one of our social media pages, if it’s a really great picture! If you would like to be tagged in a photo, or if you don’t want to be included in a photo, please let the tour guide know."
Because you booked directly through TripAdvisor, and not our site, you did not see this policy, unfortunately.

The guide is super outgoing and funny, full of knowledge about Rhode island. The trip was the perfect amount of time for the area covered and the stops were perfect for some great photos! The ride was super smooth and comfortable, especially with a/c in the heat lol. I would absolutely recommend this tour if you want a nice snapshot of providence and the history behind it :)

Ted was our tour guide for the day! He was AWESOME! He encompassed being entertaining, informative, thorough, polite, kept to the schedule. . . .overall one of our best tour guides! He took us to some great places for special treats as part of our stops including all the history!!
We were able to see and hear about all parts of Narragansett Bay area.

I had only 2 days to take in as much as I could while in Rhode Island and I am so glad I found Experience Rhode Island. The experience began with booking the tours while I was still at home. I arrived in early June right before the peak travel season began so I was really worried about the tours being cancelled. The young lady who answers the phone patiently took my calls every other day for about a week to make sure that the tours would go on as scheduled. She even reached out to me the day before to assure me that they would happen as scheduled!
The Providence tour was so interesting that I was taking notes like I was in school. I learned so much about the history of this beautiful city and the mark it made on the building of our country.
The Newport News as great as well. I loved the fact that we had two hours (approx) on our own. I struggled with the thought of going back to visit The Breakers but I didn't think I had enough time. But I had ample time to shop, eat and enjoy the view of the Atlantic Ocean.
If you are short on time and like history and culture, this is the tour for you!
