We had John as our tour guide he was absolutely amazing. Would recommend to anyone... Learned alot and John offered so much information. The experience was more than just an excursion.

Tour was amazing and our guide was excellent. We can’t remember his name but he was a bearded man with a hat that has a daughter that works at the raptor center. 10/10 guide.

We had an amazing guide. Only complaint is we didn’t have much time at the totems. Very beautiful scenery. We loved the raptors as well.

Great tour. We booked this Viator and ended up mistakenly booking for the wrong time. We didn’t realize this until the morning of. We thought we had missed out, but after calling and talking with someone at the tour company, they were able to put us on a later tour, which I’m so glad they did. Sitka is beautiful and the tour was well executed. Very small group and an excellent guide . We got to view brown bears up close and we got to see eagles. Totem park was also a treat !

We booked this tour for a 9:30 am time. Prior to arriving on the ship we found out that the ship would not arrive in time so we began to email, text and call with no response days prior. We eventually contacted Viator whom we had booked through and they changed it to 10:30. When we arrived before ten they denied our email from Viator changing the time, were nasty and insulting to us snd said we were trying to use white privilege. They had changed the person’s in front of us. I have never seen such nasty people in all my travels. Avoid Banarof tours at all costs. We are out over $400 and will have to try a credit card dispute.

We were disappointed in our tour guide/driver. He seldom offered any information about Sitka. He was more interested in asking questions about the cruise ship. The van was a standard 15 passenger van. We had to climb/struggle to get to the last or second to last row. Would not recommend this company.

Our guide was excellent. We visited the raptor center, near fortress and park. Our bus was late because of a break down which made us nervous to be back in time to our ship, but they made sure we were on time.

Okay tour would have liked more time in the forest. Did see many eagles and bears at centers. Tour guide was good. Well organized.

First off, the 2 star review is not for the Sitka Bears and Raptors tour itself since we arrived 15 minutes to late and missed the tour, so I have no idea the quality of the tour. This review is about the process and time, and resulting implications, of getting to downtown Sitka.
So after disembarking from the Norwegian Bliss, at around 11am we were met with substantial lines all queuing for busses heading to downtown. An hour and a half was wasted in this processs. Unfortunately or confirmation email, tickets, and the vendor's TripAdvisor page had no phone numbers to call or email addresses. But that would not have mattered since there is no cellular signal in the queuing line.
End result we misses the tour, had a very good but ridiculously overpriced lunch, mossied around the town then headed back to the ship.
So lessons learned from this first time cruiser 1. Book through the cruise line or pick a vendor that has transportation at the dock. 2. Pick a vendor that has an identified means of communication. 3. If you chose neither of these, get off the boat as soon as it docks and plan on spending two hours just to be on time.
PS. When we eventually arrived at the tour pickup location where there was a note stating their return at 2pm and a phone number to call. Unfortunately the call to the number could not be placed on our ATT plan. This is no fault of the tour but of the circumstances. It was a $225 debacle and a lesson for future cruises.

Why don't I get a refund when I cancelled 2 weeks in advance due to a schedule change I had no control over?!

The tour we booked was with Martin's Taxi and Tours LLC. The cost is $420 which you have prepaid. The confirmation Email said "The cost is $420 which you have prepaid. If you cancel, 50% will be refunded. If you must cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance."

Will I receive the two tickets in the mail or via email?
I will be on the Norwegian BLISS on July 18th and not sure how hard it is to get to the starting point of 330 Harbor Drive.
Perhaps y'all pick up people who are on the ship at the dock where the ship is located?
