Tom was a great host. Very informative, patient and great choice of restaurants. Perfect way to see an area of Newport and learn some history. Definitely start with an appetite, you will not be disappointed.

Our group had a fantastic time, and we all agreed it was the best thing we did all weekend. Definitely go hungry! We stopped at 4 places and had a burger, fish tacos, Italian and dessert. Sue, our tour guide, gave us a little history of the area, fun facts and even made a dinner reservation at a restaurant for us. Don’t miss this!

So much fun! Sue gave a wonderful tour. Full of history and stories. Food stops were great Especially enjoyed Viesta. Worth your time to do this food tour.

Our guide was very knowledgeable! He told interesting stories and took us to the best places to eat. Everything we ate was amazing! Would do again if ever in the area again!

This was as much a walking history/cultural tour ofNewport as it was a food tour. Our guide, Susan was very informative and we had as many history stops as we did food stops. We walked up and down Thames St as well as the waterfront area and even to the backyard of one of the mansions. There were 5 food stops, mostly casual places, but she also gave some recommendations, one of which we booked for dinner the next night. The whole tour lasted over 3 hours, and did involve quite a bit of walking,but we would highly recommend. An enjoyable way to view much of the city of Newport.

Advertised as a stroll and lunch
Difficult walk. Stops for tasting were short and food was good,but not gourmet. Information was interesting. Newport was lovely. We left tour early missing ice cream sundae. Took Uber back.

Hello,
Webster's Dictionary definition of a stroll is "to walk in a leisurely manner". We feel that our tour fits this definition completely. We feel that we went above and beyond to accommodate you, informing you of the very narrow stairs at our first food stop, offering you a table for two on the lower level and letting you know that the walk up to the mansion may be difficult, and suggested that you might like to wait at our 3rd food stop instead.
I am sorry that you were disappointed but feel that we did everything we could to make you comfortable.

This was a great tour! Our guide, Tom, was fabulous!! All the food stops made us welcome- perfect portions, food came quickly so we could stay on track. Well planned. Our favorite was Vieste's! Loved hearing the story of how they came to be in Newport. We plan to return sometime for dinner. Would not have discovered this gem if we hadn't done the tour. This was not our 1st trip to Newport and we learned so much about this great place!! Highly recommend!!

I am planning a trip to Newport from New York State and with the Covid-19 unknown and the ever-changing travel restrictions, if I book it now and can’t travel because of quarantine restrictions, can I get my money refunded? I am hoping that won’t be the issue as we’re looking forward to the vacation.

We are coming in on a cruise ship in October- how far away is the starting point?

It depends on what size boat you take. Smaller cruise ships dock at Fort Adams State Park. It’s a 15 minute cab or Uber ride to the meeting spot. If it’s a larger boat and you tender into town, it’s much closer. Check with your cruise line as to where you will dock. Either way it’s worth it!

I think it was only a mile or two.! It’s mostly right downtown Newport! I’m 77 and we did it in the rain!

Hello - I would like to join this tour as 1 adult. The system requires 2 to process. Can I join an existing group tour?
My friend and I went on the tour, just the two of us. Food was amazing even though it rained all day! I was sure the tour would be canceled but no we continued on in the rain!
I would like to do a group of 30 or more in May 2019. Can you accommodate?

It’s not my company to tell you if they can accommodate. You’d have to call or check out the site.
Based on the restaurants we toured...30 people wouldn’t fit in most of them.
Please call them though as they are an awesome couple who run the tour!

Do you run this tour in the winter months? Between Christmas and New Year's? It sounds great, but could get dicey, I suppose, if the weather doesn't cooperate. Is it busy then? Thanks.

I don’t believe this particular tour is year round, but the tour guides mentioned starting a winter tour with a slightly different format.
