This glacier hike was so amazing! The hike it self was really fun and the glacier and scenery was absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide, Henrik, was great. So knowledgeable about the area and provided a really fun experience. Our group was about 8 people so that was nice. I would recommend bringing a snack in your backpack or something, it’s about a 4 hour hike up on the glacier, there was time to take a break and eat.

We did the 3.5 hour Glacier Hike, as a Guide to Iceland Glacier Option, and really enjoyed it. We have two kids (16 & 10) and this tour was a good fit for them. The guide was patient and explained everything very well. We would take the same tour again. As a matter of fact, all tours we took with Arctic Adventures were very good!

Our guide for the hike was incredible! He made the tour so much fun for everyone and even took us on a new section that they had just finished while we were there. He was also a great photographer and did everything to get the perfect shot for everyone!

The experience was wonderful. You hike into the glacier, first on the uphill rocky area, then put your crampons on and continue the hiking on the ice. Our guide was great and made the experience fun. We learned how to hike up and down the ice. This is a must do experience with a great outfit!

The guide was very professional and also extremely attentive to the group - constantly checking out how people were coping, without making us feel incompetent! This hike was somewhat demanding and very exciting at least for me, first time on a glacier and wearing ice hiking gear. Still, I felt safe and the experience was great. The guide also shared a lot of information on the glacier, so I at least also learned a lot. This was truly a hike I will always remember. Overall, I liked the company’s professional yet relaxed style and respect for the unique environment they operate in.

The tour is a true and an amazing experience! We were a group of 11 (more or less) and had a blast. We highly recommend it.
Special thanks to our guide Max who was outstanding, he did the hiking very enjoyable and easy. He also took time to explain us the different parts of the glacier, answered all our questions and we explored with him some of his favorite sections of the glacier.
If doing it, we recommend to take water and something to eat.

The glacier is amazing. And this company I'm sure can give you a great experience. To be honest that's why we're writing this review, to help travelers get the best out of their experience with this company (and maybe help them improve a little).
We wanted a chance to really see the glacier, experience it, and explore a little. With this company advertising and emphasizing they did "small groups" we thought they were the best option. Turns out the group wasn't overly small (15), and as with any group you'll only be able to go as far as the least conditioned or capable group members...and we had smaller children in our group and a guide who said she wasn't being overly adventurous. So we were stuck with the minimum experience, and even those kids ended up getting a bit bored.
We get it, the tour operator can only work with the group they have. So our best advice is maybe try contacting them to see if you can do a different tour if you want more of an experience, or maybe they'll put you in a group that's going to do more than the beginner's tour of the glacier.
Other than that, we had some minor frustrations. We had to wait twice, first as we were getting our group all ready (which was just fine), but then a second time as a new group came in and for some reason they got them all set up while our group just stood and waited, then sent that group ahead of us before we finally got to go. Then they made us wait again because we had 2 more people joining us once we got to the glacier.
Also, they need to help their bus driver get a new bus. The driver was amazing, we really enjoyed her, but she spent the entire time telling us how much of her bus didn't work, and you could tell, haha.

My significant other has had some trouble with her arms (tendonitis) but is a good hiker in great shape. Does this hike require a lot of arm support (ladders, holding on to ropes, supporting your weight etc) ? We will be doing the tour at the end of august listed as Glacial explorer tour.
Customer service for the tour says no climbing but I would like get a broader sens from those who have experienced it in this regards.

We also did this same tour. You do not need to use your arms as the person stated above. You might want to not bring the ice pick with. It’s really for pictures anyways. It’s not heavy, but just something you have to carry with you that’s really not needed. It’s an amazing tour! Enjoy!
