Picked up on time in Melbourne and had a great day out visiting 4 different wineries in the Yarra valley. Our driver/guide (Andy) was knowledgeable with a dry sense of humour. The tastings comprised 5 wines from each venue and the second stop also included an excellent quality lunch at the Balgownie estate - however it was only a main meal with a dessert available at an extra cost of $9. As most people opted for the dessert it seems odd not to include the latter as part of the dining ‘package’, which also included coffee. By the time we got to the fourth tasting there was probably the need for more food in order to soak up the alcohol - as very few were sipping and then tipping the remainder away!!! Luckily the final winery offered platers of cheese and/or cured meats as an accompaniment (albeit at cost) to the tasting. All in all, some good wines tasted, some attractive venues visited and a thoroughly good day had by all. Cheers!!

Driver was friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was excellent. Cellar door staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Bus was comfortable and well-maintained.

A fun wine tour. Also safer, since we didn't have to drive after tasting. We liked all the wineries we visited, especially Rochford. Lunch was nice too. Our guide, Tony, was knowledgeable and funny. He even drove through the Country Club so we could see kangaroos. Would recommend.

This tour could be amazing but it is detracted from one of the drivers Tony, who makes it all about him. From the incessant and deafening microphone commentary (which is irrelevant to anything about the tour) ensuring that half the party is either asleep or irritated before the first stop. I would advise if you book a tour, that you check who is driving because this was an experience I wish my group had avoided especially given it was for my friends birthday and was meant to be a special occasion.

We visited four wineries, and it was great that we could leisurely try five or six different types of wine at each one.
Although the tour was only in English, our very friendly driver/guide was reassuring, and we enjoyed chatting with fellow guests from various countries during lunch!
The majestic nature and the autumn-colored vineyards lit up by the sunlight were beautiful. It was a fun tour that I would like to go on again.

We visited the Yarra Valley with friends on the Aus Wine Company tour and had a great day out. We were collected promptly from Melbourne CBD and visit 4 vineyards before arriving back around 6pm. Lunch was delightful at Balgowie Estate and we tried many different types of wine during the day.
Yering Farm was a standout favourite, as it’s an amazing setting with good wine. We also tried their cider and it was very good, especially on the hot day we were there.
We would highly recommend and we will hopefully do it again someday!

This is one for the white wine and light red drinkers! We had great weather for the tour and the views were stunning. The wines were fine but, being a ‘full bodied’ wine fan, I learnt more about what I don’t like than what I do and didn’t spend my wine budget. I did walk away with some great cider, though, that was a nice surprise!
Lunch was good but I would have liked some choice with the glass of wine served at lunch (maybe choose the one we liked best at the tasting?). The final stop, Soumah, gave very small tastings - as other reviewers have mentioned - only 1cm and not enough to really taste properly.
Overall a pleasant day out.

What a great day , we were picked up on time and it took an hour to get to our first vineyard. Lovely scenery on the way .
All of the vineyards were lovely and we met and chatted to different couples on the tour , it was a lovely mix of older and younger people . Great bus driver too.

Please can you describe the wine tasting. Will it be a proper wine tasting where we can choose to spit out and someone will explain the notes and flavours we should detect? Or will it just be getting a glass off wine at each stop I.e getting to taste the wine

Does the winery entry/admissions include the cost of wine tasting? Or is this extra? If so, how much?

On the tour we were on, the tastings were included and there were quite a few (approx 6 at each stop and there were 5 stops). However, there was nothing to eat with these tastings so make sure you have a good breakfast before you go as there were 3 tasting stops before lunch and then we had lunch before the last 2 stops.

I think it depends on the date and booking received as they seem very popular. The total group size of mine should be around 20 pax so in terms of their car and other logistic arrangement, size of 11 is not an issue.

1. We are a party of 5 for the tour on Sunday March 6th. One person is 95 yrs young and whilst quite spry, cannot walk long distance. We are staying At The Oaks Hotel on Collins St. Is it a long walk to the pick up spot?
2. 3 people have a 7.30pm domestic flight that day. Would we be back in time to get to the airport for this flight?
