Horrible experience

We had a horrible experience with this tour. Me and my friend had booked this tour for 13th August but on calling on night of 12th august to confirm the timings for next day, we were told the trip is cancelled since the responsible person is sick. No intimation at all was given from their end, not even a text message. What kind of a service do you guys provide if you cant even inform in advance if trip is cancelled. Plus, he asked us to cancel trip and now we are not getting refund. This is a scam please do not trust this.

Guided City Tour in Pondicherry

Wonderful guided City tour of Pondicherry! Mr. Mani our representative pick us from the mentioned hotel and we enjoyed thoroughly the tour with Mani's explanation about the history of past, and present pondicherry. He also taken us to a very good South Indian Restaurant. Mr. Mani has act as a Guide cum Driver come up along with his good, spacious SUV that we never expected👍. Highly recommended to those who are new to Pondy and explore it in detail.

Do not take this tour

The person asked us to cancel the booking dur to health reasons and now we are not getting refund
No one is answering our calls

Hello everyone, don't believe this comment, she has made this comment purposefully. I have informed 2 days ahead of the tour, that i was bedridden, so i couldn't take this tour. After informing, eventhough there was room to cancel in advance, she didn't cancel the tour well in advance and cancelled the tour on the day of travel. I answered her twice, eventhough i had admitted in hospital. This is purely her negligence and nothing fault on our side

Amazing full day Pondicherry tour

I booked this tour just before my family and I left the UK for a two week tor of Tamil Nadu and the Andamans. We had full day in Pondicherry so wanted to see as much as possible and Mani (our guide) made sure we did. From picking us up at our hotel, he took us to two Hindu temples, a detailed walk around the French Quarter including visits to several Catholic Churches. En route to Auroville (15km outside the city centre) we stopped for a delicious local lemon drink and on our way back for a strong Indian coffee . Lunch was served at a local Indian vegetarian restaurant which was a real experience eating South Indian Biriyani with our fingers! Mani spoke excellent English and has a thorough knowledge of both Pondi as well as the wider Tamil Nadu region. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our long day ( we arrived back at 6pm) and would most certainly recommend Mani to anyone visiting the area. Thanks Mani

This was my first visit to Pondicherry and after much research, I decided to avail the guided city tour since there is so much to cover! To say that the trip was very enriching and delightful would be an understatement!! We covered so much and with Mr. Manikandan’s expert knowledge as a local and guide was invaluable! Religion, culture, cuisine, monuments, he was very knowledgable… the best part was that he was very flexible and patient since I was traveling with kids… he kept engaging with them and drawing them into conversations so they would also feel included. Overall a great experience and I would undoubtably recommend Avtar Tours and travels for your sight seeing needs! I have already shared their details with friends and family who were so ecstatic to see pictures of the off beat places!!!

Traveling is my passion. I feel happy while traveling. Now-a-days I travel with my friend Dr. L N Bhat. We both like each other’s company and traveling makes both of us happy. We planned Pondicherry Trip. After searching on the net, we managed to contact Mr. Manikandan - proprietor of Avatar Tours and Travels. We just gave him the time of our arrival and departure. He planned our itinerary from 8th October to 11th October 2022. We arrived at Pondicherry on 8th 10.15 in the morning. Karthik, the driver sent by Manikandan picked us from the Railway Station, and from then onwards till the date of our departure, that is 11th afternoon, and dropping us at Chennai Central Railway station was Manikandan’s responsibility and he didn’t leaving any chance for us to complaint. We have visited almost all tourist spots in Pondicherry, Tiruvannamalai and Kanchipuram. Manikandan also took us to one or two extra places which were not included in the itinerary. Preparing Itinerary, arranging conveyance and hotel booking - everything was done perfectly by Manikandan, and he did it so professionally that we felt very comfortable and happy. The package he offered was very reasonable for the quality of stay and Travels that he had arranged. He is such a gem of a person that I am compelled to write this review. He treated us like good old friends. His cab drivers also took good care and made our trip a memorable one. Anyone who wants to travel to Pondicherry may contact Avatar Tour and Travels for the kind of experience that we had. Manikandan is a kind hearted person, and makes your trip enjoyable and also a memorable one. That is for sure.

Appropriate perspective of Pondicherry

The heat & humidity makes it seem like too much is getting covered in one day but Mr. Mani knows his Pondicherry very well. The car & his perspective make the effort worth one's while. The tour was conducted professionally.

A Fantastic Puducherry Experience..

This was a family trip for us to Pondicherry, and we had a few things in mind; one was to see the city as a local, and the other was that our kid should enjoy the experience. So we found Mr. Mani (Avatar), From TripAdvisor, and opted for the same. We enjoyed the trip thoroughly. Mr. Mani assisted us on the trip personally, and it was a fantastic experience for us, especially for our kids. One thing I noticed during the trip is Mr Mani answered all the “Why” questions which a typical four year old has and he made the experience very special for the kid and us as a whole. He even helped us bargain and get the best price in our street shopping. We will recommend Mr. Mani to anyone who we know and is traveling to Puducherry. So if you are traveling with kids, definitely opt for Mr. Mani. You and your family will have a fantastic experience.

Knowledgeable, customizable, comfortable Pondy tour with Mani, in an AC SUV.

It was easy to coordinate w/ Mani, he picked me on time from my hotel. As a multi-generational Pondycherrite, he knows his city and loves to share that cultural history and connection on his tour. A courteous, knowledgeable person with a very comfortable suv, ability to customize itinerary and super reasonable price == a great guide and tour… and that’s exactly what I got!! So 2 thumbs, way upppp…
