Insufficient information. The first bus was already full and when we wanted to board the next bus (20 minutes later) we were told the online tickets are not valid. First we were sent to the wrong building. Then back again to pick up a payment confirmation. That should be on the descriptions. Never again Tripadvisor 😫😏😔

Liebe Susanna, ich erinnere mich noch genau daran, dass ich Ihnen persönlich beim Zugang zum Vesuv geholfen habe, und es tut mir leid, Ihre Enttäuschung zu lesen. Wir arbeiten daran, jeden aus der ganzen Welt zufrieden zu stellen. Ich verstehe, dass diejenigen, die aus Ländern wie Deutschland anreisen, einem Land mit einer großartigen Organisationskultur, Effizienz, aber vor allem bekannter Pünktlichkeit, sich in anderen Situationen möglicherweise unwohl fühlen. Diese Rezension von Ihnen zeigt einen kleinen „Kulturschock“. Ich glaube, wenn ein Attraktor angegriffen wird, ist es normal, dass es zu Problemen kommt, und das wäre überall das Gleiche. Erlauben Sie mir jedoch, Ihnen öffentlich zu sagen: 1. Ich habe Ihnen geholfen, bis Sie den Krater betraten; 2. Brilliant trip! Getting to Ercolano can be tricky, and train tickets from Napoli can only be booked in person, but once in Ercolano the trip was seamless!
But was exactly on time, and plenty of time was given to explore once we reached Vesuvius. An amazing trip and well worth the price for the amazing views from the edge of the crater!

Directions weren’t real clear about where to go to catch the bus. After the check in and once on the bus everything was excellent.

Super friendly service. We were late and couldn’t find anywhere to park but the team here helped us and said they would wait! Better length of time at the top than another local one we have used before. All good, very pleased and would recommend

To read about the events in 79 AD is amazing! To actually be there on the mountain is breath-taking and humbling. Our driver is a great driver, managing the narrow roads like a champion! The volcano is just .. magnificent!

5*- as the vesuv vulvano is amazing.
3* as the logistics are a nightmare and a rip off
After reading tripadvisor, i decided to book this for my mum and me, even though we had a rental car. We visited Herculaneum in the morning and parked in the underground garage. Then we walked 15 mins to the meeting place. The coach was overbooked and people scrambled to get on. Once all seats were taken, some 20 odd people were left behind.
But there really is no alternative. There is no ticket office up on the volcano at the entrance. Why not???
People who had booked their time slots missed it as the shuttles from the parking lot to the entrance were too busy.
My recommendation- forget parking there and forget the shuttle. The only way is to book bus and ticket in advance.
Also- if you have vouchers- make sure you download and save them offline- there is no reception up there.
The track itself is in full sunlight, so expect to get sweaty and dusty. Bring at least 1lt of water and a sun hat!
Once you get to the top- it is stunning and impressive. The actual crater is so worthwhile seeing- whilst you also get a great view over the shoreline

Esperienza eccezionale. A seguito di uno splendido tour di Pompei con tanto di guida privata, siamo stati alla "Cantina del Vesuvio Winery Russo Family". L'enologo ci ha poi portati alla scoperta delle vigne a coltivazione biologica, e a seguire pranzo in loco con degustazione di vini e altri prodotti tipici. Grazie a Discover South abbiamo trascorso una giornata stupenda, assolutamente da ripetere.

Cara Elisa, che bello rileggere la tua esperienza e la gioia che avete provato seguendo i nostri consigli. Siamo felici che abbiate trascorso un soggiorno con i fiocchi e abbiate visto tante destinazioni in pochi giorni. La Cantina è straordinaria...che dire, vi aspettiamo presto, oramai siete di casa!
