We spoke with one of the guides around Tequila who offered this tour for $250 pesos per person. We registered and there they also sold cantaritos, they told us we could get a refill for $60 pesos but that was not true later on. We rode on one of those barril buses but it was hard to hear the guide and they oversold so not enough seats. They took us to a spot to view agave plants but it was very small and crowded with the holiday crowd. We arrived to the distillery and also had a hard time hearing with the machinery. Tasting was at the very end but overall underwhelming. This tour is all in Spanish if you plan to travel here.

Obviously there are many tours of the different tequila shops in El pueblo de Tequila, this is simply the one we take and the very interesting truth as they show you the process of making, and of course the tasting of various types of tequila and in the end you can buy the whole range from the cheapest to the special editions. Tour highly recommended.

Excellent treatment from Guide. We took the tasting tour and it was an exclusive Guide. Amen and connoisseur. Tasting of the three types of tequila. Well worth the price

The place is nice and the explanation is well given, but the ending is very poorly planned and did not meet the expectations that were generated when they promoted the Tour to us.

We came to visit our family in Guadalajara last month and they took us for the first time to Tequila, Jalisco. We were invited to La Mexicana Tequila Orendain for a tour and to taste their wonderful products.
We were received by an enthusiastic guide who was very knowledgeable of the distillation process and tequila. He gave us a fantastic tour of their grounds, we were able to see the manufacturing process, we learned about the blue agave, and the difference with the type of agave used in the fabrication of mezcal. They only thing I wish I would have seen was the Jimadores working on the plants.
Then we went into a private room to taste the three types they have Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo. There is a lot to it, more than you might think… Here in the USA tequila is drunk as shots, but there is a science to it. There are different kinds of tequila, distillation methods, and food pairings that are appropriate for different occasions. First of all, the tequila was served in a flute glass, and it is supposed to be tasted in sips (Kiss the tequila).
After the tasting we were treated to a ‘Jarrita’, which is a cold cocktail made with Tequila which was delicious and tasty. I recommend to anyone who visits Jalisco to stop by La Mexicana, you will not regret it.

We were just walking around Tequila after lunch and saw the Orendain store. Went in and asked about a tour. He told us where the distillery was and walked to it (15 minute walk from the plaza). Marcos was our tour guide. He was MARVELOUS!
We saw the process of how the tequila was prepared (which we sorta knew from all the other plants) but we were more able to get up close and personal to the fermentation vats. I was disappointed they wouldn't let me jump in for a swim but such is life. ;)
Truthfully, prior to seeing the store, I'm not sure we really had known about Orendain. But with the tasting session we had, last of the day so Marcos spent more time with us, we found that we enjoyed it and of course, bought some.
Well worth the time!

Fuimos y la fabrica estaba cerrada por mantenimiento por lo que no pudimos ver el proceso, si entramos a las instalaciones y nos explicaron pero uno va a ver el proceso, creo que al momento de hacer la reservación deberian de notificarlo para que uno sepa si contrata el tour o no sin mencionar que el tequila estaba bastante malo, definitivamente no lo recomiendo

Lamento el mala experiencia que se llevo de nuestra destilería, de igual manera le informo que ninguna destilería trabaja su proceso en semana santa.
Le invito nuevamente en tomar nuestro tour una ves que se tenga el proceso.
