We came to visit our family in Guadalajara last month and they took us for the first time to Tequila, Jalisco. We were invited to La Mexicana Tequila Orendain for a tour and to taste their wonderful products.
We were received by an enthusiastic guide who was very knowledgeable of the distillation process and tequila. He gave us a fantastic tour of their grounds, we were able to see the manufacturing process, we learned about the blue agave, and the difference with the type of agave used in the fabrication of mezcal. They only thing I wish I would have seen was the Jimadores working on the plants.
Then we went into a private room to taste the three types they have Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo. There is a lot to it, more than you might think… Here in the USA tequila is drunk as shots, but there is a science to it. There are different kinds of tequila, distillation methods, and food pairings that are appropriate for different occasions. First of all, the tequila was served in a flute glass, and it is supposed to be tasted in sips (Kiss the tequila).
After the tasting we were treated to a ‘Jarrita’, which is a cold cocktail made with Tequila which was delicious and tasty. I recommend to anyone who visits Jalisco to stop by La Mexicana, you will not regret it.

We were just walking around Tequila after lunch and saw the Orendain store. Went in and asked about a tour. He told us where the distillery was and walked to it (15 minute walk from the plaza). Marcos was our tour guide. He was MARVELOUS!
We saw the process of how the tequila was prepared (which we sorta knew from all the other plants) but we were more able to get up close and personal to the fermentation vats. I was disappointed they wouldn't let me jump in for a swim but such is life. ;)
Truthfully, prior to seeing the store, I'm not sure we really had known about Orendain. But with the tasting session we had, last of the day so Marcos spent more time with us, we found that we enjoyed it and of course, bought some.
Well worth the time!

Todo muy organizado y la visita muy entretenida. Al final nos dieron muestras de tequila y un vasito de shot (caballito).

Fuimos y la fabrica estaba cerrada por mantenimiento por lo que no pudimos ver el proceso, si entramos a las instalaciones y nos explicaron pero uno va a ver el proceso, creo que al momento de hacer la reservación deberian de notificarlo para que uno sepa si contrata el tour o no sin mencionar que el tequila estaba bastante malo, definitivamente no lo recomiendo

una estafa!! me vendieron un your donde no se ven las piñas, la fabrica vacia, no pierdan El tempo en Este Lugar tan malo, uno como turista queda muy desepcionado!

Lamento el mala experiencia que se llevo de nuestra destilería, de igual manera le informo que se tuvo una remodelación y cambio de imagen de la destilería por lo cual no se tenia el proceso.
Le invito nuevamente en tomar nuestro tour una ves que se tenga el proceso.

This was a very nice tour in a very clean and well run operation. The staff was great. I found myself comparing this tour with other companies that had shared rich histories and a more personal story to tell. I had a perfectly pleasant time and I wished there was more shared about the people behind the distillery. I would have otherwise given the experience a five stars

Desde que nos vendieron el tour nos llevaron a un " Barrilito" que en cuanto subimos no estaba en buenas condiciones, después el conductor con la encargada de la oficina dónde nos vendieron el tour se estaban peleando ! Cero profesionales! Esa licorería o agencia de tour esta por la calle Juarez a unos cuantos locales antes de una neveria, no tiene nombre. El conductor al salir estaba molesto por lo que le estaba acelerando bruscamente. Dijeron que nos darían un pequeño tour antes de llegar a Oredain ( ollitas ) nos colocaron un sticker nos cobraron 460 por personas y niños 150 que considero que no lo recomendaría ya que no me siento satisfecha y tampoco mis familiares, dentro de la casa Orendain fueron muy amables pero....antes de viajar allí busquen más opciones que pueden valer más la pena!

Buenas noches, lamento informarle que nosotros no contamos con el tour de campos, ciudad y fabrica.
Solo contamos con la experiencia clásica e incluye:
solo el tour dentro de la destilería y ellos cuentas con sus propios guías certificados.
En verdad lamento mucho el mar sabor de boca qué se llevo después de tomar el tour por medio de una agencia turística.
se le invita a tomar el tour y realizar su reservación por este medio.
Sin más que agregar deseo y pase una excelente noche, quedando así a sus ordenes por cualquier visita futura.

Pésimo tour, la fábrica está detenida por remodelación y no te muestran lo que prometen al venderte el tour, los hornos donde se prepara el tequila están vacíos, el tour incluyo personas de la 3era edad que no podían subir escaleras y tardabamos demasiado en pasar de un lugar a otro, duro muy poco por mi mismo! No lo recomiendo, fue un dinero tirado a la basura!

De las pocas destilerías abiertas por el tema COVID19, nos atendieron muy amablemente. El tour fue breve pero muy interesante. Me gustó mucho conocer el proceso de producción del tequila. Buenas degustaciones también.

La finalidad del equipo de turismo es que se lleven, un buen sabor de boca y sobre todo cuidar la salud del visitante y sus familias.

El tour fue bueno y entretenido, al final tienes opción de comprar productos de la fábrica, compré una botella de gran orendain añejo, pero después me sentí estafado ya que después lo ví en las licorerías de mi ciudad y cuesta 30% menos que directo de la fábrica.
