My husband and I had 3 amazing nights at Casale Alessandri. A truly beautiful location, cozy and welcoming with the added bonus of amazing food. Louise and Federico ensure you are well cared for and very well fed. The rooms are amazing, each one unique, interesting and comfortably appointed. Louise ensures your stay is perfect and provides lots of recommendations for touring around the area. Federico’s class in an outstanding kitchen which brings the surrounding outdoors inside is an adventure. He shares his knowledge and passion for cooking in an entertaining manner which makes the 5 hour class fly by. I highly recommend Casale Alessandri for couples, or a family, friend or work retreat. An unexpected surprise was the pool with a view of the Italian countryside…. Love this place!

This was an authentic cooking class with great company and amazing food. Chef Alessandri was engaging and took the time to really show and explain every detail of the dishes. You can tell he really wants you to make this again on your own. Each pasta was incredible, and it was the best food we ate on the trip. The whole crew was nothing but inviting and the property was an attraction in itself that prompted us to plan another longer visit. This is a top memory of our vacation and one we hope to repeat!

I did a cooking class with chef Federico in 2017 in Rome with my daughter. We had such an amazing experience, that when my wife and I were planning our 2024 trip to Italy, a visit to his newly opened casale was very high on my list.
While my expectations were high, I can honestly say that they were exceeded on every level. The location was beautiful and the room and grounds had the perfect combination of history and comfort.
The cooking class was exceptionally enjoyable and educational. I don't know how he does it but it was equally enjoyable for both myself (a fairly keen and experienced cook) and my wife ( who's enthusiasm for cooking is somewhat more limited). We both learned a great lot and had an absolute ball doing it.
In addition each of the meals we had - both the gourmet and the rustic meals - were absolutely phenomenal. Chef Federico is an authentic and incredibly creative chef who constantly changes his menu to use the best local ingredients to produce wonderfully inspired meals.
Louise was also amazing with her knowledge of not only the local areas, but the local wines that matched perfectly with the food (at a VERY reasonable price).
On top of all this Federico and his wife Louise are just two of the nicest people we have met in a long time. Be it a general chat about life and family, discussions of food and wine, or just a chat about foraging mushrooms in the local hills - we just had a fabulous time here.
I know I may sound over-enthusiastic, but I genuinely could not recommend a stay at Casale Alessandri enough. It really was the highlight of our month long trip to Italy.

Our family visited the Umbrian countryside and planned a cooking class for one of the days. Casale Alessandri was definitely one of the highlights from the entire trip! Louise was wonderful with our planning and showing us around when we arrived. Federico was very knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the day. We learned a lot that we will bring back to our kitchens in the States. We hope to come back in the future and stay at the Casale next time for more cooking classes. The property has so much charm and ambiance. Did I forget to mention about the food we made? It was all so delicious! Our family (all adults) loved everything we made and tasted. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

So much fun. Highly recommend the cooking class. It was informative and the chef is knowledgeable, super friendly, and lively. He explained all steps of cooking. At the end we got to eat the various delicious pasta dishes and sauces we made. Go!!!

6 of us, my daughter, hr partner, and part of his family originally scheduled for rome, due to unforseen circumstances ended up at the casale. Truly magical and informative class with Fredrico. (I apologize if I misspelled anything). Informative, friendly class filled with hints and humor. The property is breathtaking. I highly recommend.

Federico is a great chef, funny, pedagogical and adapts to the specificities of each (allergies, intolerances). He shares his passion for good products while explaining the cooking at the base, which makes it possible to get the best out of these lessons and then replicate them at home (and we can’t wait to get back to it!).
The place, a medieval family building, is splendid, located in the beautiful region of Umbria. Louise’s welcome is particularly neat.
In short, you can book with your eyes closed, you will not be disappointed!

Our fifth time in this wonderful place .. fantastic location, spacious rooms, clean and super comfortable beds. Not to mention the infinity pool overlooking the valley.

It was an absolute pleasure and joy to be hosted and taught on Italian cuisine by Chef Federico Alessandri. Beautiful surroundings and great hospitality by Federico and Louise. Couldn’t recommend the experience more.

This was an amazing experience with Chef Frederico, and Louise. The chef is passionate about the food he creates and shared wonderful tips during the preparation and also the presentation of the food. His sense of humour was refreshing. We prepared a five course meal in a beautiful and fully equipped kitchen and enjoyed it with a good glass of wine. Their hospitality was the reason this experience was the highlight of my trip in Italy. Would love to go back and stay at their beautiful property.
Well done to you both. Thank you to your very efficient assistant, I'm sorry I forgot her name but she is a hard worker with a beautiful smile.
