Viator & Agoda are absolutely unreliable in India. They charged us 20% higher than the actual price and confirmed booking for Dec 25th, on which day the activity was closed! I planned my trip accordingly, couldnt do the activity and also did not get refund! The attached pic shows how the booking shows completed!

The guide paced us perfectly, two 75 year olds and two 35 year olds. He was always checking in with us about resting or taking pictures. The mangroves were another world, mystical and transporting. The weather was pitch perfect. We kayaked in doubles - more stable. The total trip was 12 km. All of us had kayaked before so we had a good idea of how far we could go.

Undemanding kayak trip. Relaxing. We paid for 2 hours, it took only 1,2 hour. Our guide was very friendly.

Thank you for visiting the Paravur Backwaters. I am genuinely sorry to hear about your experience with the presence of garbage. It is highly unusual for our waterbody, as the absence of nearby bridges typically keeps the area clear of litter. However, it is not completely garbage-free. Unexpected rains can occasionally wash waste from land into the water when it gets wet.
I wish there was a way we could offer you a chance to redo the trip on another day, allowing you to truly experience the beauty of the Paravur Backwaters. Instead of the 2 KM journey, if you're interested in the 10 KM trip, we would be delighted to accompany you on another paddling adventure.

Get dressed appropriately as you will get. Overall had a great experience and made very nice people from all over.
Highly recommended activity if you like nature and water.
Don’t forget to put sunscreen and buy water as it may be sub and hot.
Must do activity for the area.

An exceptional kayak ride, away from the crowds. You have to paddle for a while to reach the mangroves, but the water is calm and it is done very easily.

It’s one of the enjoyable journey through back water viewing Kandal forest. We use country bout for journey. Kayaking also available. We enjoyed it.

The kayaking was such a great experience! Elroy, the friendly guide, and I shared a kayak (I am not really experienced) so, the strong current in the beginning was doable 😅
We crossed the big lake to get into the mangrove forest. Elroy explained many facts.
