这次是一个人到纽西兰自助旅行，建议冬天的话绝对要找向导带领，才有足够的装备可以在雪地健行，他们会在出发前一一检查装备（包含登山鞋、衣服裤子、雨衣、手套，甚至背包都可以借），而且在健行时，会放慢脚步等大家一起走，不用担心走散；虽然这次因为天候不佳，所以为求安全起见，向导决定不走完全程，但我们还是看到Tongariro 雪地中美丽奇景！

The best day hike in New Zealand

It has been such a gift to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing with Adrift. My schedule was fluctuating, and they have been very understanding with me booking the trip last minute. The lady on the phone gave me a lot of good tips about the logistics, so I decided to stay in the village around the hike and never regretted it.

Antony, our guide, was such a delight! We walked with a pace that allowed all those jet-lagged enthusiasts to feel at ease with the route.

The wind situation changed drastically while we were walking, and I felt very safe with Antony giving clear guidance on how to proceed and explaining what we should expect while climbing the edge of the mountain.

We made it safely, the weather on the other side of the mountain was stunning, and I only have great memories about the trip.

Most Amazing Views

What an adventure and the views breathtaking! Our local guide, Kenny, was so knowledgeable and helpful when we needed it. Could not have done this hike without him. My husband and I are in our late 50s, so it was challenging for us. I thought we were in pretty good shape, but being from Texas, we were not used to hiking mountains this big. Still, so glad we did it. Would never see views like that if we had stayed back. So, push through and do it! This guided group will get you through.

Astonishong experience

Astonishing trip, never did this on my life.
Excellent guide 'Tai' our group of 6 has had, explains a lot about maori culture, the site and history, much more than just interesting. Very professional attitude, it was good to be with him.
To be recommended!

So glad that the clouds parted.

We had a wonderful hiking experience with Kini as our fantastic guide of our small group of 5 hikers. It got really misty and windy at the top (so grateful for the gore-tex long coat and hood) so we could not see the red crater at all. But then, on cue, the clouds parted, and we had the best sighting of the emerald lakes. Once in a lifetime view.
The trip was perfectly organized with good tips on climbing (for these 60-year-old legs) and good locations for our rest-stops, many photos, and short meal breaks.
(Very tired legs for two days afterwards, even though we regard ourselves as pretty fit.)

A Bucket-List Worthy Adventure: Tongariro Alpine Crossing

Our Tongariro Alpine Crossing experience was nothing short of epic! Without a doubt, it was a highlight of our New Zealand adventure. While the trek presented its challenges, our incredible guides kept us motivated every step of the way—pushing us forward, sharing their stories, and making the journey even more memorable.

And oh, the views! Reaching the top was an absolute reward in itself. The dramatic volcanic landscapes, emerald lakes, and sweeping panoramas made every challenging moment worthwhile. If you’re considering this hike, do it. The sense of accomplishment and breathtaking scenery make it an unforgettable experience!

Fantastic Tongariro alpine crossing hike.

Great walk. Weather was very mixed buy added to the adventure. Our guide Kayler was fantastic- very knowledgeable, very safety conscious and great company throughout the day. Would certainly recommend these guys to get the most from your hike.

Must-see but demanding crossing-over with Adrift

Superb varied and demanding walk with the help of Cathy and keeny. Thank you for their advice before and during the crossing. It is breathtaking beauty and variety of wild landscape. If you have the condition, go for it

An amazing day hike to a magical place

What an incredible day hike. We lucked out with the weather but the views and hike was amazing. The guides took us at a slow and steady pace helping some walkers and giving great insights to the geography and landscapes around us. Both Kaylor and Keni were excellent throughout the day. Would highly recommended the full day hike for walkers with a good level of fitness. You’ll be rewarded with some amazing pictures and memories.

Volcanic trekking

Amazing hiking a volcanic mountain massiov. We were well prepared for it to be tough and they were but well worth the effort. The guide was good at telling about the areas and then supporting the whole group and each individual in the group stage by stage.

Great trip, and skillful guide

It was a mega fantastic trip. I am really glad that I chose to do it with a guide and not alone. One met others in his group, and one had a private and skilled guide who could tell one why the natural phenomena were as they were, and how to walk to avoid falling into the hard areas. Definitely a trip I would recommend!!
