José led a wonderful tour where we learned a lot about coffee,sugar cane, and chocolate but also lots about the country of Costa Rica and its people. Would highly recommend if you want to learn about local culture.

My wife and I did this tour and enjoyed it very much. I think a big reason was our guide, Mario who was very animated and you could tell he loved what he was doing. This was a last minute tour for us and we are not sorry we did it. It was very educational as to how coffee, chocolate and sugarcane is produced.

We visited chocolate coffee plantation and sugar cane
The guide explained to us all the steps of chocolate growing from plantation to harvest and we tasted a preparation.
Same for coffee from plantation to tasting
For sugar cane we harvested the juice which was excellent.
I recommend this activity.
To finish the store with all Don Juan products

The tour was excellent. The guide was enthusiastic and engaging with the attendees. There were different things to sample. All the processes from growing the plants (sugar cane, cocao, and coffee) to the final product were well explained and we even even got to taste or do some of the process along the way. We left knowing a lot more than at the beginning and had a fun time.

Cathryn was an amazing guide! She was so upbeat, passionate, and knowledgeable about coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane. This tour was worth every penny. Easy parking and walking on smooth paths. It was very interactive and encouraged participants to help at many stations. The end had free coffee and hot chocolate to drink while you browsed the store. Kid friendly. The sugar cane drink was the highlight of my day.

Our tour of the Don Juan coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane was very good, our tour guide "Kathy" was a great host, she engaged the group really well and gave us really informative information about the processes used here. We really enjoyed making a fresh mojito from the sugar cane, mint, and lime all picked fresh along our walk. The giving us the experience to process some chocolate from the cacao beans was a lot of fun. The gift shop has a really good selection of chocolates, coffees, and souvenirs to choose from at the end of the tour. Thank you for a fun adventure of the plantation, I recommend this for anyone to take part in.

The guide (called Rolo) that we had was passionate and had deep knowledge of sugar cane, coffee and chocolate with reference to local business that he represents and is part off. Very good value and a break from hiking and driving.

This was a wonderful tour. The sweet young man who was our guide did an excellent job.
