We had a couple drinks and appetizers while waiting for zip line. Beautiful view of the mountain waterfall. Our adult sons went swimming and slid down the natural rick water slide. Great location must visit when you are in PV.

Pedro Lopez is amazing! Highly Recommend this tour! Stunning jungles and beautiful and he takes you up to the real set where Predator was filmed.

In the El Eden area, this restaurant features an ample tray of shrimp, fish, steak or combos in an open air location overlooking a river with smooth boulders that invite the customer to take a dip after lunch. I wrote a review about El Eden and did not realize that Rancho Lopez was the actual restaurant we ate at. There are people zip lining in the trees that you can watch as you dine. I love this place! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Pedro Lopez is an amazing man. He's been here for many years, and is very dependable and interesting. If you like horses, be sure to visit Pedro. He is often at the main road by the bus stop, and speaks English. Trustworthy and honest !!!

Pedro Lopez took us on a horseback tour through the jungle to the Predator set. It took about two hours. Pedro is really a friendly local rancher with deep roots in the community. A couple of our party had never been on a horse, so he offered just to walk with us and train the neophytes on basic handling skills. The ride through the jungle was memorable; the horses were well trained & calm and responded well to direction. For Mexican standards, the horses and mule were well kept, but they were tethered (I’m not sure if they are stabled at night) and rope harnesses were used (I prefer leather as they are softer on the horse’s snout).

Today January 22nd 2016 my family and I went out horseback riding in Mismaloya at Rancho Lopez. Pedro Lopez the owner/guide picked us up at our hotel at 9:45am and drove us to his ranch. He had the horses ready to go and we took a little trip through his town and up in the jungle. Pedro is very experienced and his English is very good. He took us the the set of Predator in the jungle where we had some lunch and drinks. After about an hour of eating and drinking he went back to his Ranch. His horses are in great shape and very well taken care off. For some of my family members it was the first time horseback riding and they had a great time. If you think about doing some horseback riding in the Puerto Vallarta area, I can highly recommend Pedro Lopez. You can book this tour at Playa Los Muertos in front of hotel Playa Los Arcos. Ask for Jaime or Don Pedro and they will take care of you. The price is about $35 each person.

Pedro and Gustavo were wonderful guides on a ride up a winding road through the jungle. We stopped at the Predator set at the top and could have lunch, swim, zip line if we wanted to, before we came back down. Pedro works very hard and exists strictly on referrals. He doesn't overwork his horses. He cares about Mismaloya very much. If you want a bare bones horseback riding trip that is "real Mexico" this is the way to do it!!

If you visit Mismaloya at the bus stop ask for Pefro Lopez. He operates Rancho Lopez a small boutique borseback riding experience into the mountainous jungle of Mismaloya. He has a very good grasp of English and is extremely accomodating. We have known Pedro for over twenty years and have always found him courteous, honest and kind. He loves his city of Mismaloya. And he will coordinate your experience to exactly what you want.

Nos hospedamos en un hotel en Mismaloya, lo cual recomiendo ya que te da la oportunidad de ver de cerca la selva de Vallarta y acceder a la playa Mismaloya o a la Boca y no solo quedarse en el área centro . El paseo en el camión es de lo más placentero y le imprime aventura ya que los caminos de curvas y la playa divisando hace que el viaje se haga muy ameno. Si buscan un paseo a caballo definitivamente recomiendo el Rancho López, se bajan a la altura del Hotel Barceló y a la izquierda un poco antes del zoo encontrarán a Pedro López (a veces estaba en la parada de la ruta Mismaloya-Boca), lo acompañan unos muchachitos muy simpáticos que le ayudan y como ya se dijo, son caballos y mulas muy tranquilas (yo nunca había montado). El camino es hermoso, te lleva por veredas angostas llenas de vegetación, riachuelos, cascadas y entre tanto te cuenta esos datos curiosos de la vida Vallartense y la historia de la misma hasta llegar al Edén donde se filmó la película depredador. Mi hermana y yo optamos por bajar a la selva y andar por las piedras y los ríos explorando por 45 min y el regreso. Vale mucho la pena ya que existe preferencia por el turismo nacional, es económico y un viaje muy familiar.

Mismaloya is located along the coastline of the Bay of Banderas
just south of Puerto Vallarta. It is most famous for the filming of ‘The Night Of the Iguana’ but however there are very little remains of the film set now. However well worth a trip is with Rancho lopez where you will be taken to the film set of ‘Predator’.
The beach at Playa Mismaloya is in a lovely cove, where you will get a fabulous view of Los Arcos sea rocks. This is a wonderful place to stay and a taxi ride will get you to the more crowded area of Puerto Vallarta downtown and the famous Malecon.

Pedro Lopez is a family man... and I am sure he could arrange a ride that is suitable for a young child. The last time we saw him he offered choices... from a shorter ride to 2-3 day trips into the jungle/mountain area close by. He speaks fairly good English, and I am sure he is honest and responsible. We met him many years ago when staying 2 weeks in Mismaloya, and have seen him almost every year since when we vacation in Puerto Vallarta.
