Named after the birthplace of St. Dominic de Guzman in Spain, Caleruega is great for retreats, recollections, renewal, and other spiritual exercises. The whole place is immersed in Nature and supports the idea "close to Nature, closer to God". Among the places you can visit, there's the Transfiguration Chapel (which is a favorite venue for wedding), the Tent Chapel, a hanging bridge, koi ponds surrounded by lush gardens and bridges, an Eco Teatro, the so-called "Dominican Steps", an old Dominical friary (now a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Manaog near the parking lot), etc.
The road leading to Caleruega from the main road (Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway) is in a bad state. It's rough and full of potholes. Once you reach the main entrance, you'll have to pay Php 30 per head for a maintenance fee and Php 40 for the parking fee.

We saw guests running late for a wedding at Calaruega Church, but couldn't speed up for fear of messing up their suspension and tires. I could hear them cussing in my mind, haha. If you drive a 4X4, that rough road would be child's play. If you're forced to drive slow like us, just enjoy the sight of Mt Batulao. Fyi, the church's parking fee is PHP40 per vehicle, plus PHP30 entrance fee per person.

Got here with friends and we enjoyed each second even if its when we encountered some wedding and much but still enjoyed the tranquility of the place

The caleruega church is an affordable place for a tourist, they don’t have an entrance fee but you can donate for the environment, any amount will do. This church is on top of the hill in nasugbu, batangas, it is good for a wedding venue for its perfect view. Caleruega church is also known as the Transfiguration Chapel. The transportation in this church is very good because they offer a rental tricycle where in they can fetch you from the highway to the church and the other way around. This is one of the perfect place to visit if you love environment and a perfect spiritual atmosphere

I attended my friend's wedding here. The place was quiet and conducive for praying. Going here, however, was difficult for my sedan because the road was rocky and had many pot holes.

We enjoyed visiting this sanctuary, nature and church is always the best places to visit. We spent an afternoon there, taking lots of pictures as the view is wonderful. Snacks and drinks are available around too. It’s worth the trip!

This church and grounds have a spiritual feel. Extremely tranquil! If you like old architecture Spanish influence, this is a place to visit. The grounds have beautiful butterflies flying around and wonderful flowers. There are even spruce trees in this area. Would love to visit again, when it is not raining.

If you want some place to meditate or to think through your decisions; or maybe you just want to find some place to be alone and feel peaceful - this is the place to be. You can pray and think at your own pace. Every part of it is really one with nature.

Part of our iterinary is to go to church, first option is to visit Taal church but it is quite far from Tagaytay.through the great recommendation of a good friend we went to this Church. The road going to this church are quite rough, when You enter the gate You will feel the solemnity of the place. Quite and peaceful... Beautiful landscape and masterpiece architectural design. Perfect place for the wedding.. Very clean and well maintained place.

Been here 3x and everytime i go i am mesmerized by the serenity,the holiness of the place,cept for the tourist who seem not to understand the word silence,here you can meditate and have a time for yourself since the place is big,you can also i think hold a retreat there...its a must place to go to.

As I recalled, parang wala po? Ang nakita ko lang ay stairs pataas dun sa Chapel, hindi ko lang sigurado kung may ibang daan na pwede para sa kanila papunta dun pero malabo eh. Medyo mahihirapan din po sila kung sakali na ituloy kasi medyo mataas yung papunta dun sa Church at lalo na din dun sa Tent Chapel of Transfiguration.

For Commuters: From Edsa Taft ride a bus going to Balayan or Nasugbu that passes through Tagaytay City and Evercrest golf club.
Drop off at Evercrest Golf club. Then ride a tricycle going to Caleruega, drop off Caleruega (better to advise the tricycle driver to fetch you at agreed time or you can also ask his cell phone number so you can call him if you are done visiting Caleruega.
