First time visiting here with family and our young children. Extremely disappointed. The Café was closed. Toilets all locked, so no access. And it was a reasonably busy Saturday afternoon, with other families visiting. There seemed to be a sensory garden, but it was all overgrown with weeds and the ground wasn't safe for anyone with any mobility issues. Let alone wheelchairs. The car park can do with some TLC also. The disabled parking alone is overcrowded with bushes! So glad I didn't bring my son in his wheelchair.

The pictures on trip advisor are definitely out of date.
There are no animals they were rehomed a long time ago. The lack of animals can be made up by what else the park has to offer.
Amazing walks, fantastic views, great play areas for kids and another belt refurbed play area in the trees behind the golf club.
There is no cafe but the golf club is open to all members of the public and serve hot and cold drinks and food.
Amazing walks for dogs and just on our doorstep
I would encourage everyone to visit and use Palacerigg County Park to make sure we don’t lose it

Wow, what an amazing place. Yes the visitor centre and cafe is closed and it all looks a little neglected, but step away from this area and you will be rewarded with some fantastic walks. Head back out of car park and on your left is a path that leads to the badger trail and then the Loch. You can then loop back to the golf club where the club house is open for refreshments. All the paths are well maintained and make for easy walking. Treat the kids to an hour or two in the fresh air. Needless to say great for dog walks too!

Went with my 2yr old totally Rubbish, no animals. visitor's centre/cafe/toilets all closed. Parks not great. Run down. Overall nothing like whts advertised on website. Good for dog walkers though

Absolutely no animals at all. Place is very run down. Visitor centre closed. Small swing park which the kids enjoyed for 10 mins. Also a forest adventure park. Very disappointing as very little there. Climbing fame with 2 sides. Definitely not worth the drive to get there.

Run down, no cafe or toilets or animals. Sad to see as used to be such a good park and a good day out.looks like it has been abandoned

Drove up here on wed 8th of feb to walk my dog only to find a horse at the gates lying with broken legs and in pain and bleeding and sadly dying this park has cattle grids at its main gate where this horse sadly tried to run across and sadly got injured and died im so angry that they have these cattle grids they have no animals up here anymore horrified at what I saw these grids have to be removed get them removed now before another animal loses its life in such a cruel way DO it now

Very disappointed and disgusted this park used to be a brilliant place for kids with young families.. Not any more the place is a total dump..

The place isn't worth going to. There is nothing really to see or do. The information centre was closed and had been for over 2 years. Kids playpark but that is all. As said by others really neglected.

A couple of questions 1) Is there a height barrier to the car park? 2)Is this a good place to take dogs and able to be off lead? 3) Is there any streams/water etc (one of my dogs loves water).

There's no height restriction, and there's lots of little streams etc... And a small Loch! You can let your dogs off as there aren't any animals here.

When we went they had sheep, goats, rabbits & peacocks. Inside they also had some fish.
From what I've heard recently there is talk of removing the animals to save money so I'd call them direct to check and to be honest if the animals go I wouldn't be going back as that was the best bit

I'd like to leave my picnic in the car while we wander around then go back for it at lunchtime. Is the car park close by to make this a viable option? Thanks

It depends where you're walking to. The car park is close to the play park and visitors centre, but if you're on a walk over the other side it takes about 20 mins to walk back, maybe more
