There is a very pleasant cafe at Sale Water Park, with seating both inside and out.
There's a good selection of hot and cold snacks, cakes and deserts to choose from the menu, all served on/in disposable plates or cartons.
The staff are polite and efficient.
There's also a bar serving alcohol & non alcohol refreshments too!

It’s alright I guess for a walk, you need to dodge the lazy lot (‘’owners’’) that can’t pick up their dog dumplings though.
Decent cafe near the car park though and if your into water activities this could be the place for you, lots going on

Should have been a beautiful walk on a lovely hot, sunny Sunday. A group of 11/12 year old with one on an electric scooter decided to scare, hurt and intimidate me. I'm 70, minding my own business walking along. The electric scooter brushed my side as it charged me from behind. He then turned round and drove straight at me. The path was narrow. I had to move side on and he did a wheelie and caught my wrist with his handlebar. It is sore and bruised. All of this group of thugs though it funny, made derogatory remarks and justified their terrorising of me because they had the 'right' to ride like maniacs and attack a complete stranger. I was an easy target being an 'old bitch'.
I'm visiting my son from where I live in the South.
Spoilt what should have been a lovely relaxing afternoon.

Absolutely brilliant - family outing celebrating my birthday. Service, food and atmosphere brilliant. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Not much water in all honesty. No sign posts telling you how much. No ice cream vans on the walk around. Fuming 'cos there was fish near the bit where you look in the water which made me s**t myself and couldn't paddle my feet in. Too busy for a chilled walk which I was led to believe. Avoid if you want to enjoy nature. Too many cottagers but that's got nowt to do with my review.

Booked a kayaking course with two of my lads. Absolutely brilliant experience. The instructor was fantastic with us all. Gave the boys great confidence in the lake. We'll worth visit for the friendly, welcoming experience they gave us. Great value for money.

My husband booked the paddle boarding starter package for our Family today.
Aiden our teacher for the hour, explained all we needed to know easily & step by step, to get us all started. We were all standing on our paddle boards & paddling around Sale water park, with ease & looked like naturals by the end of the session.
He was an excellent host & his expertise on paddle boarding is second to none. We all enjoyed the experience massively & would defiantly come back again.
Thank you again Aiden, for a fantastic experience, with our hard to please teenage girls, who absolutely loved it!

It’s ok, for a bit of walk around. You need to dodge the dog poo dumplings though, some owners don’t seem to bother picking it up.
Decent cafe near the car park though and reasonably priced. Parking is free

We come here regularly for walks, as it isn’t too far from us and offers a few hours of nice flat walks.
There’s plenty of activities on offer for on the lake, or plenty of walks in the area - You can walk around the lake, or down the canal with many options to expand / alter the walk through footpaths leading off.
A nice cafe, public toilets and free parking all available. Very close to the metro station so easy to access by public transport

Great Lake area , free parking, two cafes, ice cream van. Lots of wild swans and geese on the water. Easy walking round the lake and access to the river Mersey. Just off the M60 , or walk from Sale , Chorlton or Stretford. Access from Dane road , through Priory woods. Toilets available near Tree Tops cafe and Lakeview cafe. Bird hide at far side of lake where you can observe Herons and Greebs etc .

If I use my own canoe and not use the main docking area to enter the water do I need to pay the £6? I have no need for the site showers or food etc.

I am afraid no but there are lost of relaxing activities, walking round the lake, watching the boating, feeding the ducks,bird watching and visiting the Metro Cafe for hot and cold snacks, cake and a variety of drinks. Worthington Park not far away.

I don’t think that the car park closes but I’m not 💯 sure your best bet is to go and have a look at there website it should tell you all you want to know but I personally have been there quite late walking my dog and I’ve been really really early in the morning and both times were open so just to make sure check there site and it should tell you hope this helps you I love walking around in the middle of the night/early morning it’s the best time I find to walk my dog without her on her lead as she is a beautiful warm really friendly dog and she has to say hello to everyone she sees so you can imagine what it’s like walking around with all the other dogs oh god that’s funny cause my dog is scared of her own shadow lol 😂
