Actually, there is a direct bus between Kinosaki Onsen and Izushi, not many though. Soba is a traditional dish in the town. As you noticed, the way soba is served in small portions on little plates is different from general soba noodles in Japan, which are served on large dishes. We are very glad to know you enjoyed it.

We are very delighted to know that you experienced most charms of the town, such as temples/shrines, castle ruins, the clock tower, and soba, etc. There are actually three direct buses from Kinosaki Onsen to Izushi departing at Kinosaki Onsen Station at 9:13, 10:13, and 11:33 on weekends, and one direct bus at 11:31 on weekdays. On your return, departing at Izushi at 11:50, 12:50, 13:40 on weekends, and 15:00 on weekdays. It takes about 50 minutes between the towns. We are sorry to hear that you couldn’t take any making classes this time. If you have another chance to come back to Izushi, and you wish to take the class, we recommend you to contact with the Izushi Tourist Association in advance.
