There aren't many people here and I live pretty close by, so I always go there for the first shrine visit of the year.
I went there at the end of last year to express my gratitude for the people who came to the shrine.
As I was putting my offering in the box and praying,
I heard a really loud "gigigi!" noise, so I stopped praying.
Then I saw the priest and what seemed to be his son moving the offering box.
I couldn't believe it.
I wondered if they had waited 10 more seconds?
They looked surprised and had a little smile on their faces, so it was really unpleasant.
My wife and I decided we'd never go there again, so we left.

ご祭神は、祭神は、武甕槌命、経津主命、天児屋根命、比売大神、菅原道真公で。旧村社とのことです。小国鶏と東天紅鶏のニワトリを神鶏として飼われいます。放し飼いにされているとのことでしたが、おまいり時は小屋の中にいました。
境内には、金比羅宮社、八幡神社、戎神社の摂社、末社がありました。

駅の改札からすぐです。境内に何羽か東天紅が放し飼いでいました。近くによっても逃げる気配はありませんでした。歴史は古い神社でゆっくり参拝できました。

8世紀中頃、称徳天皇の時代に創建された助松神社は、菅原道真公も合祀されている、ごく普通の神社だが、宮司さんが鶏好きとかで、三十年くらい前から東天紅が放し飼いにされている。神鶏東天紅が参拝者たちを出迎えるという変わったところ。

It is a great tradition in Japan to visit to Shrine on New Years Eve. This shrine has a very nice atmosphere! Every time we are near there we will visit it!

南海電車の北助松駅を下車すると目の前にある大きな神社です。
普段は静かな境内ですが、「神鶏」と表示された東天紅の鳥小屋が設置されており、中にその神鶏が飼われていました。
又、境内で放し飼いされているモノもおり、オス2羽とメス1羽を見つけました。
