The reserve is beautiful and the river proximity is marvelous. The signage leaves too much to be desired, no indication of the distance to whatever you're hiking to. Not worth adding to the itinerary.

We had a lovely time walking in the hills, the kids could play freely by the river, rocks and later we returned to the day picnic area for a picnic.

with no electricity and limited ablutions, it is still a wonderful place to unwind and get back to basics and nature, love going there and never a problem with hot water. also close to town and Sani pass. Love it.

The reserve is a stunning place, with great opportuunities for shorter or longer hikes. Between mountains and incredible clear rivers, it is a paaradise for naturalists as well as for keen photographers. But two points are the reason for my rating:
- Trails are not realy good signposted; the map provided at the entrance gate leads more to confusion as to information
- Trails are extremly bad maintained. In all the years I trveled in the National Parks and Nature Reserves of South Africa I never saw such a bad work. The gras was sometimes up to my knees, sometimes it was not even possible to check out were the trail runs.
In winter that might be more a challange than a real problem. But I visited the reserve on a warm summer day. And I was warned because Puffadder as well as Nightadder are frequent inhabitants of the area. And at least the first mentioned species will not hide away when a single hiker approaches !
Park management - please do your job. As it is done in all other reserve I visited.

We were day visitors to Cohham, and did the round hike along the river, ending up for lunch at the waterfall and pool. Its about a three hour hike, with stops along the way. Beautiful, the river is crystal clear and the mountains are stunning.

It is honestly one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It's a great place to go for a hike or family picnic. There's a river which you can swim in, camping ground and horse trails.

This hut is in terrible condition. Although mattresses have been missing for some time, there is now also no plumbing. Toilets are overflowing, and the entire area surrounding the hut is scattered with toilet paper and other disgusting matter. The place smells like a public toilet. Also, rubbish is heaping up and doesn’t seem to be removed regularly. There are no combination locks on the doors. It would be better to skip this hut and hike 12km further to the next hut.

The beautiful berg. Sadly we arrived within a minute of lunch starting so we weren't sure if we had to sign in before our short hike or make payment. The staff member was locking up and leaving for lunch as we arrived. It would have been better if they hadn't ignored us and had taken a minute to acknowledge our arrival and tell us about the procedure quickly. Also, there are no signs indicating the cost to enter the reserve and they only take cash. We didn't have cash on us so we opted to EFT to Ezemvelo instead of leaving cash at our hotel as requested by the staff member on duty when we left. We loved our walk but the various route signage is in need of maintenance.

Perfect spot for a picnic, or a day visit. The river is gorgeous with some of the best pools for swimming in the Berg.

This has always been a favourite for my wife and I. It is such a peaceful place to relax and soak in the beauty of the drakensberg mountains. The river is stunning too. We keep going back and it never gets boring. If you enjoy camping and don't mind no electricity and rustic bathrooms then you will love Cobham. Its a place where you can really enjoy nature and forget about lifea troubles for a while.
