We stopped by here from our trip to natural hot springs and it was a very nice evening stroll. It tends to get crowded as it is a very popular spot. It was very interesting to see traditional Balinese homes. They do sell various souvenirs and refreshments

For the first time, we visited the Casting Village, which was named the world's three cleanest villages. And it has proven to be really clean, authentic, beautiful, and unique that is combined with Bali's typical culture and architecture. In addition, this village is home to consoles that go green and are not contaminated by motor vehicles. The history of the designation of the "melting village" has also been an attraction for Travellers, which began with the escape of the king of jayapangus to the village as a comforter of sorrow or lara. For by-by or cendramata that is offered the local residents are also affordable according to the Traveler's rates even cheaper than some famous by-by figures with similar products such as d*wat* and jog*r.

After traveling all across Bali and Java, this site was a let down. While the traditional villages were certainly well kept (spotless in terms of litter and general upkeep) there are many other villages right around this area that offer a more authentic experience with the same architecture and style that one could experience. Every single shop has the exact same souvenirs. They are cheaply made and there isn’t a traditional thing about them. I wanted to buy something to at least support the people who have opened their homes to this concept, however I literally couldn’t find a single item worthwhile. I don’t even have photos to upload with this review because there was nothing worth snapping my camera for, sadly. My recommendation is to skip this site and spend time exploring a less touristy place.

Our extended family visited the village and were very impressed. As advertised, there is no vehicle traffic on the street, and it is very clean. The building and monuments are very well maintained for a place supposedly 700 years old. We also found the inhabitants to be very friendly. Actually, each house along the main street is a shop selling some kind of food, drink, or souvenir.
Perhaps what has protected the village is its distance from the main tourist area of southern Bali. It takes close to two hours to get to the village from the Kuta area.
We did not have time to visit the bamboo forest on the north side of the village, but did drive through it. The quantity of bamboo was impressive and made virtual tunnels over the road in places.

Nice village to visit. Looks pretty touristy on the outside. But we with our Guide entered and had a taste of life inside the houses. I would definitely do it again. Paid admission. No need to wear a sarong. We also tasted some delicious chips and snacks typical of the area at the stalls. Point at those closed in a transparent bag.

For me as a suberopolitan the most impressive were the last minutes before arrival, passing through a native bamboo forest, like our arrival at the international airport of Salvador and the most impressive welcome/bye from Brazil!
This put, Penglipuran is an ancient village next to a Hindu temple.
The particularity of this village, which obviously grew around, is the fact that people still live in each "house", which more looks like a market box, being all of them numbered and indicating how many people live in them.
Less than an hour from the center of Ubud, depending on traffic, the visit is usually part of tour packages for those who visit the region.
Entrance costs 50,000 rupees.

Here they tried to give the villagers a livelihood by being able to sell a wide variety of things in their houses. The houses have numbers indicating the number of former residents. It's worth a visit, even if you don't want to buy anything. Nothing is forced on you.

It is a quaint village that has only one very neat street with all the houses around and ends on a temple. You enter for a fee but it is worth going.

Penglipuran a traditional Balinese village located in the Bangli Regency mountainous area of Bali Island.
This village is renown for being the top of sustainable tourism attraction in Bali, Indonesia, even the world.
We can see still preserved old-Balinese's land spatial formation on this village called Tri Mandala which consist of 3 parts named Utama Mandala at the north/top facing the mountain as home for the deity where the sacred temple is built, Madya Mandala in the middle as home for the humanity and civilization, and Nista Mandala at the south/bottom facing the ocean as home for the devil where the cemetary is allocated for.
Besides, this village is also famous to be a tourism village which mostly benchmarked for its cleanliness & tidiness and how its involved many of local small medium enterprises participation in the events annually held Bali.
So it is not a coincidence if thousand of tourists are continuously choose this traditional village as a must visited attraction in their Bali tourism bucketlist.

The village is beautiful, the food is cheap and the sales are good value. The villagers are very friendly and aren’t pushy with their sales. You can spend a lot of time here exploring every nook, I’d recommend going right down some of the alleys because there are hidden shops & Warung.
VERY touristy though, packed full I’d say, with annoying instagramers galore.
See picture for actual street full of tourists like me.
At the back is bamboo forest, with another restaurant just inside.

Hi,
We're thinking of visiting Penglipuran. how much time should we give the village and the bamboo forest? would 2 hours be enough? so we can plan the rest of our Ubud visit.
撰写日期:2019年6月5日
Yes two hours will be enough, the Forest is right next door to the village. My Ubud driver / guide also took me to a waterfall ( with a few steps ) close by before returning to Ubud.
