Third visit yesterday, first colour bomb, and we had an amazing time. From age 8 to 57, everyone had a go! We love that you can do the bits you like, skip any tricky bits, have as many goes as you like and stop for a hot drink before getting muddy all over again. Staff were fantastic too. Don’t forget to wear a swimsuit under your clothes otherwise showering is very tricky!

We were unsure how much mud there would be as it had been so dry but we were not disappointed! The big mud pool in the middle we hadn’t seen before and the kids (and us adults) loved it… how we laughed!! The slide was another favourite and what a treat to have a hot shower at the end of a muddy run around. The party barn was good and the staff were brilliant with the kids and they all got a certificate for getting muddy. Would definitely recommend for anyone that wants their kids to have some time away from screens and get the chance to be kids again!! Thanks Bear Trail

What a unique and amazing experience that only gets better each time we visit!
Love the new hot showers - especially after using the new mud pit! The children also loved the certificates- really nice touch!
Best day of the holidays. Staff were so friendly and helpful!

Generally a good experience. Not a very welcoming experience though as we turned up 30 minutes early to get changed and were thrown out by some grumpy staff. No signs out saying ‘you can’t come in to the courtyard’
Fortunately we had good company and had a laugh which made this irrelevant but maybe suggest some benches for people to sit on or at least make something of a windy alley with loads of people stood around freezing their knackers off!👍😂

We are glad you enjoyed your overall visit to The Bear Trail.
I'm sorry to read you didn't experience a warm welcome on this occasion. All visitors are reminded when booking and in the reminder email not to arrive more than 10 minutes ahead of their booked session time as we are unable to let you on site outside of your session time. This is for safety as we cannot have visitors going onto the trail unsupervised and this is when the team are setting up and cleaning the facilities ahead of opening.
Just so you are aware, as we always appreciate all feedback, there is a sign upon arrival reminding visitors to wait at the entrance and another large sign on the chained gate reminding visitors of the opening times and another sign further down the entrance reminding visitors to wait for a member of the team.
We do hope this hasn't put you off returning and that you will be back to visit us again.

So... I booked for myself, wife and 2 kids (12&14). When we arrived we were surprised that our kids were the oldest there. This place definitely seems better for groups of younger children probably 6-12. For what it was we found that it wasn't value for money at all. It is much smaller than we expected. Yes, the site is big but it's very spread out and there isn't that much to do really. The showers are very dirty and communal. My and children were very uncomfortable with that. The cafe was terrible. There seemed to be a birthday party and they just couldn't not keep up or take any food orders at all until they had finished with the group. We waited at least 30 minutes but gave up in the end. The worst thing about the day was not at the bear trail though. It was after! Once we got home (only 30 mins away) all 4 of us became very unwell. All of us had horrendous diarrhea and vomiting and I know have a rash over both legs. Think twice about letting your family get in mud which is sinking rancid and is just a cesspool of filth and germs.

Hi Aidian - It is very disappointing to read your review, especially since you have not contacted us to discuss any of this and give us the opportunity to resolve any of the issues that you have raised. We never like any of our visitors to leave not having had the best time.
The Bear Trail is very popular with all ages, and we often have groups of adults who visit together and have a brilliant visit as exemplified in our reviews. We find the more you put in, the more you get out of it. We are sorry to read you did not enjoy your experience.
The showers are meticulously cleaned between each session, but inevitably can get muddy once they are in use. The open showers are to clean off in, and then the private individual changing rooms to privately change in.
The cafe can get busy during peak times, but the team work tirelessly to deliver food as quickly as possible. All food is cooked fresh to order, so can result in a small wait.
We haven't received any other complaints or contact regarding any sickness from visits to The Trail, so please do contact us hello@thebeartrail.co.uk so that we can investigate this further. We look forward to hearing from you.

Great day out, fun for all ages. Lots of different obstacles for everyone to enjoy, great coffee & hot food at reasonable prices.

Brilliant time today here. We took kids aged 9-12. Shower and changing facilities far exceeded expectations

We had lots of fun and there is lots of good points a few things that could just push it to be better.
Good points
Lots of free parking
Very friendly staff
Showers to use after the muddy fun
Changing rooms to use after a shower
Good priced food, which was yummy (pizza, chips and water £12)
Yummy ice cream
Things that could be improved
Lockers for your valuables as currently you asked to leave them in your car and keys for car are left at the cafe to collect at the end.
A few more obstacles for the less adventous bear.
It should be noted that the shower are communal and you are asked to not shower nude this made it quite hard to get clean.
There is also some wear and tear that needs address. One balancing beam is snapped, stepping tyres are going soft so couldn't take the weight of our small 6 year old

Myself and my daughters visited yesterday. And they had a fab time. The only downside is that even though I had no intention of going on any of the obstacles I still had to pay full price for a ticket and my daughters were unable to go in without me.
However, we all had a great time and till definitely be back. Once the washing machine has recovered!!

3hrs of awesome muddy fun!
The assault course and obstacles were lots of fun, the kids whizzed over them and loved every second. The giant mud puddle was great fun too!
Warm showers and changing rooms were a bonus!

What is the suggested age range for kids? We have a 2yr old and aren’t sure if too grown up for him!

Hi there, The Bear Trail is suitable for all ages. Your two year old should be fine to tackle most of our obstacles, with a bit of adult help of course! We have a fantastic new mud slide that's proving very popular as well as Cubs Corner for younger ones.:)
