Originally built in the 1840s, this place has had many purposes. I liked the exhibit in Salon A. It showed artworks from two artists through their sculptures, paintings and embroidery. Check out their online events for more exploring.

What a pleasure to visit the art gallery! Ever changing art galore! The restaurant - a haven with deliciously prepared foods. Fresh muffins in the morning, mean breakfasts and yummy cakes! A must visit!

Rust-en-Vrede was originally built in the 1840’s as a prison and police headquarters. In 1984 it was declared a National Monument.The complex now houses a Gallery, Clay Museum, various Art Studios and the coffee shop, YOCO Eatery. The coffee shop can be highly recommended after visiting the Gallery, Clay Museum and Art studio. The chocolate cake warmed up with cream was decadent and delicious.

A beautiful winery that does nothing but lives up to expectations.
We tried all the famous and award winning wines, they were much deserving of their awards.
We also tried a few others and they were great on the palate.
We bought a lot to take home!
Be sure to ask for a cellar tour as the lovely staff are more than happy to.

Lovely buzz at the Corobrick National Ceramics Biennale. Stunning ceramics on exhibition inside. Saturday stalls outside, with ceramic demonstrations and live music by a jazz band.

Casual atmosphere, tasty food. Lovely for winter or summer. Kids love playing on the lawn outside and one gets to experience some art appreciation too.

Tivemos a honra de fazer uma degustação de vinhos premium no Rust-En-Vrede, em Durbanville. O visual é fantástico, os vinhos muito premiados e o ambiente extremamente agradável. Inesquecivel. Aproveite para dar uma volta na propriedade. Vale muito a visita.

If youre an local art lover and find yourself beyond the "boerewors gordyn",- why not visit the art gallery and see the different art exhibitions they have there each month. The staff are exceptionally friendly to answer any questions one may have. The whole Rust-en-Vrede historical monument and garden is a tranquil setting in the hart of Durbanville and one will quickly feel as if you are walking in Stellenbosch. To top it all there is a excellent restaurant, Yoco Eatery on the premises with friendly and professional staff that serves the best coffee in Durbanville along with veeerry good breakfasts and lunches. Go visit!

Great restaurant. We had the soup of the day which was borscht. Probably the best I have ever had. The new owner Stas is an amazing host. So interesting and an amazing chef. They have a beautiful exhibition of ceramics and fine art in their galleries too. Don't miss this if you're in Durbanville. Rust en Vrede is open for breakfast and lunch Monday thru Sat. Enjoy
