Excellent show. Lots of colourful costumes. High energy dancing and singing.

A great show with exhilarating music, wonderful costumes and fabulous dancers. What an experience and enjoyed with the local drink of caipirinha. Fabulous.

Certes, la salle n’est pas idéale pour ce spectacle : pas de vraie scène surélevée et pratiquement pas de gradins pour les spectateurs, ce qui peut gêner la vision de ceux qui ne sont pas au premier rang. Ceci dit, le show est superbe, ce n’est pas pour rien qu’il se classe second au Brésil, après le carnaval de Rio. Un folklore local très dynamique et coloré. Les décors et costumes sont une merveille. A ne pas manquer !

This one hour show is amazing! Try and get one of the front seats - otherwise, you run the risk of seeing only the upper parts of those involved. You almost need to attend two shows to take all in. The speed of movement, music and the enthusiasm of those involved is infectious. Expensive, but well worth the money - make sure you have water - it becomes more than quite warm!!

The Boi Bumba Folkloric Performance in Parintins, Brazil is absolutely fabulous and a must see. It is performed by mostly high school students who do and exceptional job. They also serve a drink at the show which you better be careful of. It goes down very easy and after to many, will hit you hard

Visited the port on MS Marina, Oceania cruise line. On arrival in the port, we were welcomed ashore by the local Scouts who helped and guided people. Stall holders made a good atmosphere also.
The Boi Bumba presentation was an excellent taster of their popular June festival and a wonderful, colourful and vibrant display by the local community. Well worth seeing if you are in Town.
Sadly though, we could see little; although sat in the fifth row, our main view was people’s heads and their raised cameras for much of the show. The charges made by our cruise company would have bought the local convention centre tiered seating for keeps. The a/c was very good.
Our cruise company charged us US$159.50 each for what was sold as an ‘exclusive show’, its certainly worth the $59, the rest is just obscene sadly.

If you happen to be in Parintins, do not miss this! High energy, fun show. Non stop singing and dancing with some of the most elaborate costumes and inventive backdrops I have ever seen. Quite an undertaking for such a small community! Gives you an idea what Carnaval must be like!!
One problem- the convention center is really not set up for a performance. If you are sitting further away from the floor, you will see the backs of heads, especially if you are short. So try and get there early and snag a front row seat.

The Boi Bumba Festival is actually in June, but the people of Parintins put on a special show for tourists at other times of the year. We were on the Viking Sea cruise ship (930 passengers) visiting Parintins, and two shows were put on, so we could all get to see it. It is in a big hall which is a short walk from the pier and each show lasts about an hour.
It was a fabulous performance - lots of action, singing and dazzling costumes and floats. Very impressive. Well worth seeing.
There are a few stalls outside the hall for souvenir purchases.

A high energy, very loud, very colourful spectacle lasting around one hour this is a folkloric show not to be missed. Very enoyable!

I think you are probably best paying through your cruise ship. I didn’t see anyone else in the audience with other tickets - everyone came from our ship. This seemed to be a “one-off” show arranged for the ship; it wasn’t part of the annual festival held in Parintins.

At what (local) time does the Boi Bumba show start in January 2019 in Parintins? There is no indication whether it's a morning, an afternoon or an evening show.

You can easily walk between the show and a cruise ship. In, fact , we had no choice with Regent after the show, and they absorbed the price of the show, as is their policy. The performance is in an air-conditioned hall, and I suspect only for cruise-ships in port.

Most cruise liners are at anchor and tender across to the pier which is at most five minutes to the theatre, it’s a great show don’t miss it!
